I had those tires and ended up switching to Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts. They wore quickly and I missed a rotation or two and they needed to be changed after 25k miles. I’ve been really happy with the Baja bosses but I digress.

Hope you like the kit when you order it! Overall it’s been a great kit for me. Just stiff with my lack of weight. Only have engine skid and sliders.

I have 60k on mine right now. They have been great for me and definitely havent been easy on them. Appreciate the input. Hopefully pull the trigger on the kit soon here.

im2.5 havent been tested and being it's a monotube with pressurized gas it's going to be rebuilt.
i always liked the reports on fcp going 100k + mi without getting rebuilt- this is the reason why i dont want kings, fox, icons- $4k with 90 days warranty and needs to be rebuilt at 30-50k miles. dont want to spend that kind of money to rebuild.

I agree completely with that. It’s why I didn’t save up extra for Kings or Fox’s either. Icon was never one I was interested in. Too many threads of them leaking lol. They were also the best I could get for the money, at the time for the stage 1. Still not unhappy with my purchase.

I would like a more plush ride though. Not sure if I mentioned it in this thread, but I’m thinking of rebuilding my FCP this spring/summer and using a different fluid. The FCP have a 15W fluid and I’m going to put in a 5W shock fluid, following a recommendation from another member. I do need to lower the spring seats with the OME springs. I want 2-2.5 lift and not 3”. Gotta go easy on the CV boots. Glad these things are pretty easy to adjust and seem easy to rebuild.

I thought about it but the im2.5 springs look flat on top and bottom. I asked on their IG what the spring rate was but they only said they had 0-100 lbs and 100 and up, or something like that for extra vehicle weight.

the OME springs I have on now are 660# vs the 720#. Went with them since I got them off fb for $30. Maybe the ride would be better if/when I lower them.

I am running some IM Foam Cell Pros on my tacoma in the PNW... Carry a heavy constant load in the back. Using their Heavy Leaf Pack.... They are really Beefy, and take abuse. Few Years... Been great, with lots of heavy offroad use. ....

I’ve had my foam cell pro suspension for a while now and I think I don’t like it. I knew it would be a bit rougher on the ride but coupled with the LT tires it isn’t really enjoyable.
I need to swap it out and the tires for something more daily friendly.

I can’t really argue with that. I wouldn’t say I’m not happy with mine, just that I’d be happier (I think) with a softer suspension. My E rated tires don’t help at all with the ride.

I’ve done several things thinking I can get a softer more enjoyable ride, as I like the concept and potential longevity of the kit. Being mechanically inclined and having the tools and like working with my hands, I took the chances. Swapped out the springs a few times and adjusting the heights. Since it’s not too expensive, I’m planning on swapping the fluid inside the shocks/struts to a lower weighted fluid. Going from 20W to 5W should help out too.

If not, I’ll probably save up for another kit.

I swapped out my FCPs for some Dobinson MRRs about a year and a half ago and couldn't be happier with that decision. Night and day improvement over the FCPs in every way.

That’s the same kit I was eyeing lately too. Lots of spring options and adjustability with it. I think @Crikeymike is the go to person/shop for dobinsons stuff.

It all depends on how you use the truck and how hard you use the suspension. Just like an engine, some last 500k miles, some last 50k miles, depending on who is driving it. I put 70-80k miles on my last MRA kit before I sold the truck and never had to touch anything on it. You would only rebuild them if you encounter a problem, want to change the valving, or feel it's not like it was before.
