Has anyone found a tail gate assist for 4th gen Tacomas yet?

Aded: I drive a 2025, in the parts site the 2025 Tacoma is not even in the drop down list, there is the Tundra but no Tacomas at all.

As soon as I can find a kit I will install the struts ASAP. I can handle the tail gate but my wife was so used to our 3rd gen that she just pulls the handle and it slams down every time. I have searched all over with no luck yet.

Although I can handle it just fine myself I am not as strong as I used to be before my C-spine injury in the Army 25 years ago and resulting nerve damage, so the assists would be great for me also.

I looked at Nissan Trucks and a big turn-off when I tried the tailgate was it slamming down on me.
My 2021 SR5 has the assist and it really helps...

So you're telling me the 4th Gen doesn't have that anymore?.... and you have to buy it LOL.... WOW

My 4th gen has both power and dampened open/close. So someone must be talking about a lower trim level, just as it sounds like the at least one trim line doesn't contain a lock on the tailgate (again, mine does).

Don’t be surprised if they call you on Monday to confirm the parts with you.

My local dealer doesn’t even have a website to order parts. They want you to call. Last time I bought from them it was $4 for one bolt.

I can’t be 100% certain but since it’s the same generation, I believe these parts would fit.

 

if you pop your left tail light and it looks like what’s in the picture in this thread (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tailgate-assist.837457/page-2) then I’m pretty sure it’ll work the same
