Good pointer! All file sizes are the same no matter whos tuning it, or what changes have been made. It is the contents withing the file (Calibration) that are the important ones.

    Greetings!

My aplogoies I have been on the dyno and might have missed respoding to you after opening the message, or I missed clicking send. I will refrence your email too, and the process of flashing the tune is a bit different to Mag. If you ECU ID is not updated:

You have to flash it back to stock, and updated if needed. Than flash the YotaWerx file. I am happy to jump on a phone call and guide you live.

We have a customer installing the 85mm pulley in San Jose, with our updated tune for it. I am getting ready to release information for the 90mm and 87mm Pulleys. 85/84mm are still pending. Currently we have not seen a lot of benefits on running them. Unless its a dedicated setup living in the mountains.

Personally, I own a SC 3rd Gen and I do not like running another pulley size other than 90mm. I feel it is a much more balance application for Highway trips, offroading, and typical city use vs as 87mm or 84mm pulley.

I would be running a 87mm pulley if my living area had more twisty roads and hills non stop. Boost come on sooner and makes the drive more enthusiastic. But kinda dies at highway speeds/or is more consistent at highway speeds vs linear from the 90mm.

Lastly, the 84mm in my opinion is more for a extremly heavy setup (Given my Tacoma probably weighs 6800-7200lbs. It weighted 7112 fully loaded on my Alaska trip last year) 84mm is more agressive and I did not like it on my Tacoma. Yes! It does make more power, but it doesnt feel gradual after 4,500RPM. In my personal opinion, I feel 84mm is tailor for a Tacoma who is stricly an offroad toy. Either for crawling, mudding, or snowwheeling.

Given all of the feedback is based on my personal feedback on my Tacoma with our tune. Reguarless of the variant. We can defenitly agree that the stock tune is a no go.

Fun note! My Tacoma was actually in internal terms withing the shop community in the early 2019s #2 or #3 with the SC before it was available to the market. Like I mentioned before I really do not post much. Huge fan of the forums but always stayed to myself. The business has influenced me enough to become more public which I have enjoyed. Specially at events. I am far more a in person shake your hand type of individual.

I will be updating this information soon, as of right now the project is on hold. For N/A applications, we are working on releasing the benefits to running the Anderson Performance spacer on the N/A applications.

    For the SuperCharger UPDATE!

We are scheduled to be on the dyno this following week to provide final numbers for the updated tune on 90mm. As it currently sits, the updated tune is 2 seconds faster from 0-60 than our published version. We are very excited for this. Testing has been provided by our customer Chris Rosa.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been extremely busy developing other calibrations and packages for different setups. As it currently sits the new tunes available and development projects:

    GR Corolla - 91+oct and E40 Tune - READY

    GR86 - 91+ oct tune - READY

3rd Gen Tundra Hybrid and Non Hybrid - Hybrid READY - I am working on stage 2

Camry! - Dyno information pending. - TUNE is ready

Major UPDATE - 100% a new tune for the 3rd GEN N/A Tacoma and SC 3rd GEN Tacoma - coming soon

    Kline tunes for 2003-2004 4th gen 4Runner & Lexus GX470 - READY

Major UPDATE for 5th GEN SC applications and N/A applications. - coming soon

and many more coming. Such as!

We are finishing the TURBO 3rd Gen Tacoma kit. Currently we have put 8k miles on the beta tune. This is in prep to the MID mounted kit we are going to be releasing.

We are also going to be providing stage 1 and 2 tune for FI applications on the newer models. This will come with Package Deals with required bolt ons.

3rd gen TURBO!! You really have been remiss to not keep us updated here on TW. It is things like this that get me interested and sometimes involved. I was in line for one of Matt's big turbo kits, till it didn't happen, and settled for the SC once it was clear that an aftermarket tune was available. I also did a bit of wiring and board assembly for his Fuel Pump Controllers, which I believe also never finished development. Not certain I would remove the SC on this one, but sure is exciting to hear about it, please share details as often as you can.

Can you comment on the stock fuel pump capacity, with regard to smaller pulleys? It had been reported that our 3rd gen fuel systems were not capable enough for smaller than the 87, without supplemental anti-knock or fuel. Have you found a higher capacity fuel pump mod, or just find the stock pump more adequate than previously understood? I ask because I have towed snowmobiles in Canada, sea level and minus 40 deg, assume that would be some massive power at full boot. I witness that My Russian fireplace, designed to run full open; but when it gets colder than zero, it needs throttling back or it overheats and cracks all the fire brick. gets so hot the doors refuse to open, and you can't stand to be in front of it; temperatures matter. I for one love added power, but need to stay in fairly safe mechanical (and digital) limits; I do not trust myself in the moment, like passing cars in the uphill slow lane, even though I am heavily loaded; not sure the air temperature gauge would have enough influence on me.

I will certainly get you guys up to speed!

As it currently sits, and to my own experience based on what was voiced. It was belived that the stock system would not work well with smaller pulleys, and YES it was noted at the dyno and with the previous team attempting multiple ways to target more fuel. We where able to acheive power but in order for us to showcase more pwr we needed more fuel. Now with the changes that have been made and me hands on for the project, I have discovered that the system is capable of maintaining it self, fuel is not what was limiting the power. This can be acheived using other tables, that have been overlooked and ignored. For this very reason is why our SC tune refresh is a lot faster. Using the same principle we are refreshing our n/a tune.

Stock fuel pump is capable. A booster can be used just like the one ProCharger provides in there stage kits. (Benefits have not been tested by us yet) I am also sure that a bigger fuel pump and injectors will be needed for high end builds seeking peak power only.

Keep in mind our goal is not to be the fastest or most powerfull tune. My focus is to make the Tacoma more capable without loosing that reliability we love about them. I as much as I like power, I will not sacrafice it for the Tacoma not driving correclty like daily Tacoma.

What I can say on the Turbo Tacoma, is that it moves! I will be releasing updates on it soon. Currently waiting on a bigger intercooler and intake/snorkel system. My hands are full with the updates and new tunes that the Turbo Taco has to wait just a bit more. I am targeting late Feburary to mid March for the final numbers to be showcased. In the meantime you will be seeing pictures, videos and a ton of turbo noises.

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
I recently made my own replacement for the stock Y-pipe. My intention was to remove the secondary cats and try to make it "equal length", while staying close to the stock diameter. When all said and done without making any other changes, the power delivery is so much more linear from idle to redline. Currently still on the 87mm pulley with whatever tune I was provided by Yotawerx. (Which I believe to be the most up-to-date until the most recent mentions of updated tunes just above).

The reason I bring this up is because even though every tune I got from Yotawerx was just as good or better than the last, it never seemed to get rid of a weird sensation at 3k-3.5k RPM. It always felt like there was a physical "switch" being flipped at that RPM and all of a sudden more power was there, regardless of how much throttle was given. Now that sensation is completely gone. I was so used to it happening that I still watch my tach when accelerating, just waiting for it to happen, and it hasn't happened even once since deleting the secondary cats and making my own Y-pipe. The power comes on stronger from a lower RPM and stays linear, just like you would want.
I understand not everyone can remove the secondary cats due to where you live, but if you can, I highly recommend it!

    NICE WORK!!

That looks great and I bet it sounds great too. I did the URD equal length cat back, and your switch comment does not ring a bell. Truck is off the road for winter, so cannot test any time soon. Yours looks so good, I wish I had done my own too.

    Congratulations!

Maybe you had and internet disconnect while flashing towards the end of the flash and the software couldn't verify your license

I thought about that, but it's the same spot in my garage that I've been tuning from since '19.

Sorry, but the only internet access used is during the Prepare step.

I struggled when helping to flash another S/C'ed Taco. I was getting a VIN error. Tried restarting everything twice with no luck.

My guess is that something is up with the new vF version.

Maybe reach out to Magnuson and have them poke vF Tuner?

I'm no longer in the need of the Tune option or the OBD (VFT) connector since I sold the truck. Not sure if VFT still allows for the connector to be sold/transferred to another user. Anyone know? I'd be motivated to sell if so - would post in the BST thread. TIA for reply and feedback.

If you are talking about selling the dongle, that connects ODB to USB for laptop; Yes, that is universal for any truck. The VFT license ties the Tune itself to a specific VIN.

With the dongle, and the software download, you can load any tune, provided the tune is licensed to the VIN of the vehicle you are loading it to. I am pretty sure the VFT software is free to download and use, for loading a previously licensed tune; though it has been a while since I dealt directly with this software.

Guess I need to check VFT site and see what the OBD Dongle Kit goes for. I know Matt's software only allows VFT dongles for licensing so hopefully anyone wanting to use his product can purchase my kit and re-license it.
