Time for a trip to Ace Hardware. 12 bolts and washers. Don’t know the bolt size off-hand, but could check it tomorrow.

    Should be 8mm x either 25mm or 30mm long...

Typically, universal ATF is not good for transmissions today and will likely void any warranty you have left on the transmission... I wouldn't use anything but Toyota WS...

    But you do you...

    Brand new.
I installed mine and it only lasted 4 months come to find out it wasn't made correctly and water got into it and they wouldn't do anything to replace it as i purchased it through Amazon, amazon said, sorry due to no extended warranty we can't help you.

DT6 is spec’d as a replacement for Toyota. I appreciate your concern but it’s not something I’m worried about in regards to warranty. They’ll probably find 10 other reasons to wiggle out of a warranty claim if I ever have one.

    No Joke....
I like to check and top off fluids before a trip. Especially off-roading.

That trans process is like trying to figure out the temperature settings on a hotel shower. All other fluids, belts, hoses, and critical consumables are observable by the consumer. But not the transmission. You have to schedule half a Saturday to check that one. Not to mention, it takes skills and tools that the average customer doesn't have. I've asked to have it checked during oil changes and they want to charge me for a complete flush and fill. So no - your average Single Mom with Two Kids isn't going to do this.

And if that transmission fails because it didn't have enough consumable liquid in it? Guess what. That ain't Toyota's Problem that's YO problem.

My 70+ Father and Mother in law have the same / similar design on a Ford Explorer. Truck was 18mo old and the transmission gave out on a trip to California. Left two elderly people stranded in the Mojave Desert on the edge of cell service. Reason? Insufficient Transmission Fluid. Fortunately Ford paid for the repair. But that doesn't change the fact that they were up the proverbial estuary without a means of locomotion one afternoon on a late summer day. What could have prevented that? A muther flippin dip stick.

It is also spec'd for a multitude of other transmissions, and those other additives may not be compatible with the clutch fibers and solenoids and what nots, ATF is very critical in these transmissions and just because it has all the WS recommended additives in it, doesn't mean that the different other manufactures additives are correct for it... One of the reasons for premature transmission failure is using the wrong (that includes universal ATF) ATF...
Even the car care nut says that using universal ATF has damaged Toyota transmissions...

But then again, what do I know...

    But it’s sealed, it’s good for a lifetime…
I would never flush my transmission that’s begging for problems to happen. if you do it the way you’re supposed to, you shouldn’t have any issues because of the leveler tube evens it out, but you’ve gotta make sure your transmission is level. I put my little magnetic level right across the drain plug. Made the mistake of changing it out in my Camry when it was 20° outside and that back-and-forth from drive to neutral took a lifetime, my advice is maybe do it on a warmer day. Diagnosis’ mode is like a Christmas tree on your dashboard display

I like them a lot better than OEM. The seem to actually keep stuff out of my engine bay too.

Took the family, and the truck, down to San Luis Obispo County. Monterey, Solvang, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay (pictured), Cambria, San Simeon... People hate on Cali but, dang we've got some super dope places to visit and the Spring weather had the wild flowers popping and all the hiking trails green. Oh, and the truck actually saw some dirt finally! Nothing requiring 4WD but, spots I would not have taken my slow car.

I don’t know the Toyota part number.

Agree i would never "flush" a trans either, normally does more harm then good unless you were having issues and its a last ditch effort. Changing the fluid too much is also not good once a year is extreme and likely too often, light clutch material in the fluid is not a bad thing. I thought i was on top of my maintenance but youre a step above, i change it 30-50k or every 3-5 years. Then again i know that tacoma will likely never see 50k in your hands lol.

I completely understand. I was born and raised here and, without getting into politics, the changes I've seen over the past 50 years make me sick.
