Where did you buy yours - direct from Stedi, other online, or local auto parts store? US prices are higher than the CA prices.

Replaced factory front bump stops with ones from Perry Parts today. First watched video linked on Perry site. Fellow had one seize on him and twisted the bolt in two. So, I hit mine with PB Blaster a few days ago; you can get at the bolt from the back side of the mount (towards truck ‘centerline’). There’s also a small hole that’s more accessible towards the wheel. Not sayin’ that would’ve helped him but figured what the heck . . . .

Drove up on ramps. Used pipe wrench and once loose, maybe 1/8 of a turn, I was able to remove by hand. Installed Perry’s and then took a ride over a few spots that had given me trouble. No more ‘2 blockin’ (banging/bumping).

After looking over the Sonys I remember why I stop looking there and preferred the pioneer- the screen size for the Sony not filling the entire hole (I don’t like the floating/bigger than dash screens either). It leaves a recess/frame around the screen and doesn’t look oem to me. The pioneer fills the radio hole fully and has a clean look

I think Pioneer still has a hack for streaming YouTube and tv too unless they've blocked it with a firmware update. The screen resolution is better too. Pros and cons for each.

What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Yesterday?

    Howdy everyone.

I've been absent from this great forum for far too long.

I've been dealing with.....and continue to deal with....the greatest pain I've ever known. Throughout all the painful times I am certain of one absolute truth and that has been the beacon that keeps my ship afloat.

In April of 2021, my wife of 27 years....my best friend, my girlfriend, my partner in all things, my rock...was taken by cancer.

Five years prior it had been detected. She had a lumpectomy and crushed the following radiation treatments. She became a champion for breast cancer awareness and it became a job....where she was able to utilize her advanced degrees and professional experience and take on a new position with a local medical college-university.

We were given those precious few years to live and appreciate life in ways that I am so grateful for now.

When the news that the cancer had returned was delivered....it found a husband and wife who were of one accord in every aspect of life.

She put up a fight with strength and faith that Navy Seals could learn from.
I remain in awe of her courage and concern for my son and I throughout the fight.

At 53 years old she was absolutely radiant, vibrant and full of life. Her smile lit up every room as she entered. No matter how tough and stressful of a workday I may have had....being in her presence immediately put me at ease.

53 is way, way too young to go. Before passing, however, she did much to put my son and I at ease and give us her clear wishes for us after she passed.

She would be hugely proud of the life our son has lived. He is doing great.

She would probably kick me in the butt for some of the ways I've floundered, but on whole I think she would smile and approve.

One of her greatest pleasures was singing in the church choir. I have no doubt that she is singing for an angelic choir now.

Happy times at a couple summer concerts in those last years we had until realizing the cancer had returned. I am so grateful for that time together after the first shot over the bow. We lived with an ever-heightened sense of purpose and love. Those years will get me through.

What Did I Do To My 3rd Gen Yesterday?

Well....I drove it to work on my day off. Had a presentation to prep for.
On the way there I made a call to the salesmen that sold me my then-new 2017 Tacoma SR5 4WD Doublecab....he is still employed by the same Toyota dealership and is doing well.

I told him I would be in to seem him around noon.

We met and shook hands, both busting on each other about the additional gray that had snuck in our beards since our last meeting.

Straightforward and easy-going. He sets the bar for car salesmen. Best I've ever worked with and I will keep working with him, Lord willing.

I already knew exactly what I wanted, so we did a test drive in the same model truck, different color. The drive confirmed everything I needed to know: legroom, headroom, comfort, lots of power and loads of creature comforts.

They had also just received THE color I wanted in the same version I'd test driven. I knew this already as a result of tracking their online inventory. He found it tucked away in a remote spot on the lot. It had 3 miles on the odometer when I hopped in and we took it on test ride to confirm it was spot on with the first truck driven.

My Tacoma trade-in offer was solid....despite being ridden hard. I did a heap of truck stuff in it. Great little truck.

The 2.9% interest was available. Decent initial starting price on the game that is always played. They took off some additional money for customer loyalty and then I produced a supplier's pricing worksheet which seemingly caught them off guard...and netted in some additional savings for me.

End result is that I returned home with anther 4WD Toyota truck.

Pics are taken from similar positions in the driveway.
Hurricane Helene is responsible for some of the missing trees...
I am responsible for the overgrown hedges and lack of pressure washing the house in years.

I live each day grateful to God and knowing my baby is safe with him.
If I do my part we will be together again, once my time here is done.

Life is a gift...a blessing. It is meant to be lived fully. My wife demanded that I do so after she passed. I am starting to do that.

I've remained 100% alcohol free for the last six years. Head is clear. The loss is always there. I am surrounded by pictures of her in our home. They keep me grinning back.

Our two dogs, German Schnauzers, both succumbed to illness and old age. I've had to do what every dog owner dreads...but knows they must. Our son was at my side when the times came to have the vet put them to sleep.

I'm three or four years from when I plan on retiring.
Once I do....there will be German Shepherds, the breed I came into the world with...the breed that stood guard over me as a toddler and little terror.

This new truck will be a daily driver until it becomes a GSD carriage. :fingerscrossed:

I am now getting setup on Tundras.com
    Same username as here.

Take care folks.......LIVE vigorously each and every day.

Thanks for all your postings on this topic, I'm learning... Question, can you post a pic of your new breather mounted on passenger side engine bay? I'm digging into this today, taking pictures, making a plan, hoping to get this installed by sunday after sourcing a few missing connectors[3 barbs, and 2 more pressure fittings]. I received looks like same breather locator kit you did, and I'm trying to imagine this all in my head before starting. Having a brain-burp, can you help me out to understand where you cut the stock breather lines and which ones, and you cut all three; trans, Tcase, TcaseActuator? Are both of the Tcase vent lines still routed on top the transmission heading up to the engine bay? Can you tell me where is the breather on the front diff, I cannot seem to locate it, granted, my skid plate is in place, but using my scope I'm able to see all over the top of the diff and I just can't locate it.

I want to get this t-case re-vented before it starts leaking I didn't like the sounds of the suction or pressure I released during my last t-case oil change.

Did you pry the Tcase breathers, both of them, from their mount point, like with a long screwdriver? Because I guarantee I cannot get any leverage on them in that location with my fingernail tips, my arm feels like its about to get captured or eaten by the engine bay.

I cut the case vent that's connect to the top of the transfer case. Leaving enough to fit the barb for the t case on one end and the barb that connects to the fitting in your breather kit. I think the pressure/press fitting lays close to where the old breather valve layed.

    Feeding the line:
You won't be able to see it but you will feel it. I think I fed the line towards the engine as much as I could then went north from the wheel well and pulled it to where it sat on top of the trans.

I did not do the line to the actuator.

I unclipped the breather hose (they are 2 different sizes so you be aware when getting barbs. One size matches the breather to the front diff that's easily accessible.) as far as I could under the truck and then pulled it off it's Mount behind the engine.

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
My original wipers finally failed, they lasted 2 yrs 8 months, longer than any set I ever had, so I figured I should get another set of the OEM "Sightline" brand wipers. Ready for more April showers now! They ain't cheap but they've performed amazingly well for me, so I kinda think they're still a decent value.

wow. the ones on my '22 rusted out around the mounting/pivot rivet. I've never had something like that happen or even heard of it. Just another wonder feature that came w/ my truck i guess.
