I did an OTT tune today. The throttle feels a little jumpy

Is this normal. I have it set to mild. Seem a little jumpy at the start. Is this something I'll get used too

No money, all went to truck...
I think this is the point of the tune?

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
First, the truck has to re-learn your driving habits. Second, your right foot has to re-calibrate to the tune. It will likely take close to 2 tanks of gas to get to that point. Give it some time.

I went from mild to lite. Much better for me. I never got use to having to think about being light on the pedal everytime I drove it.

I met my tuner a second time and he changed it in 2 minutes.

Yep! Wait until you're coasting around 5 mph and it's still in first and you try to accelerate again. Whiplash!

While I like the OTT, I do think the mapping isn't thorough (if that's the right term). I sometimes feel like the gas is either on or off and there's no gradual acceleration. I've even paid extra to have them copy the lite map for 1st thru 3rd over the medium so I had less of the jump at lower speeds/gears.

I may have to see if they can use the stock map from 1st thru 3rd and medium map for the rest.

All that said, it's still better than stock, especially with the 5.29 gearing.

Having paid for kdmax 4 years ago and OTT last month, I wish I’d just gotten the cable and purchased licenses to mess with all this myself:jpow:

I'm still on the OV Tune 2.0 lol. I really thought they'd eventually produce their 'ultimate' tune but nah. Like you said with 5.29s it's fine with whatever tune probably.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
It's probably because the throttle is mapped to become more sensitive and you haven't got used to it yet. You can either relearn your foot or ask your tuner to set it from "Mild" to "Lite"

Here's a link to the thread containing a graph on throttle mapping:

I’m a spicy/hot driver. But I’m also an exception to the rule. I’ve always been very in tune driver. So my peddle work is above average. I also hall and pull a trailer at times so I had the etc power switch set to medium. My tuner set my alternator for my Agm battery. Have had the OTT tune for over a year and love it!
