Back in my Jeeping days I had OBA with a tank and all that. I kept the compressor, hardware and pressure switch/relay knowing I’d want to reuse it one day. I’ve been thinking of cramming all of it in an ammo can or Pelican style case as a portable kit or possibly installing it on my Taco. Not sure I want to run a tank and all that jazz this time but what would you guys do?

If anyone is wondering my only intention with this setup is for airing up tires, no tools or anything else.

OBA is very nice, but I don't have the budget for that. Also, space available in the Sport is much less than the ORs. Twin ARBs and similar are much faster though.

That said, I did make my Viair 300p into an automatic version:

If you use the Viair pressure sensor, it does fit under the power switch cover.

I store my kit in a DeWalt box that nicely flushes out the rear floor in the AccessCabs:

Nice! Does that mod just allow the compressor to turn off so you don’t blow the line or is it set for some other pressure?

I might have found the pieces to cleanly convert my 450 into a stand alone unit.

    Yessir.

I hated the supplied air line, but it had a bleed off port when not adding air to the tire. When using standard pneumatic parts, the pump went to maximum effort while changing to a different wheel.

I am not sure that you need both of those parts. There was a standalone pressure switch Viair part that you could get that can be retro'ed into the switch cover. Then, you would just need the male fitting. That said, at some point, Viair swapped from NPT to straight threads, which are on the newer ones.

Older NPT pumps could easily install the pressure T fitting with an outlet port.

That said, plug and play parts can certainly make the mod easier.

I had this night vision can so I tossed it in there, fits good! It’s hard to tell but it still has the filter on the back and it just barely fits. I could probably cram everything I need in there including the hose and my puncture kit. I definitely like that idea of adding the cut off switch, those are cheap too.

Nice! A metal case is great as that thing will get toasty after air'ing up.
