How many people are actively looking for a new midsize truck? I think the bubble for these trucks, Jeeps, Broncos and the lifestyle associated with them has popped.

    Tens of thousands per quarter.

Update - looks like the Q2 figures are published.

25Q2 saw more Tacomas sold in Q2 than every other Q2 since 2005 except 2021.
25Q1 saw more Tacomas sold in Q1 than every other Q1 since 2005 except 2021.
24Q4 saw more Tacomas sold in Q4 than every other Q4 since 2005 except 2020.
24Q3 sales were lower than several prior Q3s but may have been related to production ramping up or other factors, it will be interesting to see the 25Q3 sales.

You can think whatever wishful fantasy you want, but sales numbers say otherwise.

The v8 and v6 aren’t coming back. Anyone that has owned both a 3.5 and new 2.4 will tell you the 4 cylinder/8 speed is a much better powertrain setup than the old 3.5/6 speed.

Denying actual reported sales data is wild.

And the 2Q25 figure is 71,048, which is the 3rd highest ever for the Tacoma model.

Yes, just saw the Q2 figures came out and updated my post accordingly.

Folks can try to deny reality all they want, but sales figures don't lie. Whatever one might like or dislike about the 4th gen, the general midsize truck buying public seems to be well pleased with it.

Nah sayers will say those numbers aren’t sales to end customers. They are sales from Toyota Corp to the distributors and dealers. I believe that is true but it does indicate the pipeline is strong.

Sure, it's possible the figures are pipeline numbers and not necessarily sales to end customers.

That said, it'd be a big stretch to presume that Toyota - the company which developed and adheres to Just-in-Time manufacturing as part of their overall Toyota Production System concept - would be stockpiling unsold vehicles at their distributors/dealers.

I'll also say that I've been watching a saved inventory search for a specific trim/config for a couple months at toyota.com and saving the results. Generally I've been seeing the number of matches hold steady over the weeks while older saved matches disappear from dealers lots and new one continue to appear. I'm definitely not seeing an accumulation of unsold trucks. So while perhaps an non-rigorous analysis, my observations suggest the sales figures are reflective of sales to customers even if not a direct measure.
