FYI, I chose to place the camera on the driver's side edge of the rear glass as I have the sliding back glass window that slides to cover the passenger side of the glass and I didn't want the camera in the center rear view area when looking in the rear view mirror. Also, be REALLY careful routing the cable down the A pillar. There's an airbag there so you have to disconnect the battery, remove the bolt at the top of the pillar trim and carefully pull the upper part of the trim off. At that point you'll see that you can route the cable on top of a couple of metal brackets that sit above the airbag. That keeps the cable from interfering with the airbag should it be deployed in an accident. From there you just carefully route the cable past the bottom of the trim panel to the left edge of the dash and then down to the rocker panel. The rest is easy.

Won a give-a-way from Muslogy Auto that sells aftermarket stuff for the Tacoma. They offered someone all items bought during Amazon prime day sales money back so I got their center console cup holder inserts and the organizer. I am very happy with their stuff even before I won the give-a-way. Looking at getting some more items from them.

It ended up being a two beer job, and I think I overtorqued the clamps a bit, but I managed to get my Diamondback Switchback "factory second" installed. Damned if I can tell what the blem is that made it a second. So far so good, and it will definitely keep sticky fingers away from my snowboards and backpacking gear...

    Skid plate. Running boards.
Not all today but running boards. My own steel block recovery points, wireless MagSafe charging setup, OEM TRD Pro engine skid plate and trailhunter transmission skid plate, painted the tow hooks at the front red(recovery receiver steel blocks installed there eventually), tailgate rail, cup holder rubber inserts and oversized bottle inserts, glove box and console organizer and a Lexus hitch plug. Lol. Tailgate letters. Installed all my third gen gear on the rails (those mountain bike mounts are awesome) and the 2nd gen/3rd gen 6 foot OEM bed mat fits well enough. I want to get the trumgeta seat covers in black and maybe the roof rack. Not interested in lifting it but might put on taller tires. I want to wrap the roof and mirror caps in black as well. That two tone look like on the pro is nice to mine eye.

Changed my oil for 2nd time, 6000 mi. I made less mess this time than last. The filter is on front of the engine and the drain plug is in the rear so it can get messy with just one oil drain pan that can't be in two places at once that are both dripping.

The running boards are the Trumgeta 5 inch. They’re just like the OEM ones from the third gen. I like them because they’re tucked up high and don’t affect clearance really. Fairly well priced too. I was very happy with the quality and smart bracket design that eased installing them. I am fairly handy but they were extremely easy to install. Even if a person wasn’t they would be very easy. I may go with sliders in the future so didn’t want to spend too much.

The project nears completion of Phase I.

    Ditch Lights
    Trailhunter Rock Rails (installed today)
    Nomad Convoys
    Toyo AT3's
    Cab Roof Rack

A few misc items (wiring, a couple lights and mud guards) is all that remains.....for now.

can obviously notice the weight difference. But as far as ride quality, it's not bad at all. I was concerned a bit I'll be honest but pleased so far.

BOUGHT ONE LAST NIGHT!!! I'm back, baby! I got rid of my 2009 TRD PreRunner about 4/5 years ago, but now I'm back with a new 2024 Blue Crush TRDOR 4x4! I lucked out and this was the only one in that color that the dealership couldn't sell for a bit due to the brake line recall. My wife and I were literally grabbing something to eat on the way to go pick up a new 2024 Ford Bronco Black Diamond edition. But I couldn't be happier to be back in a Taco! As stupid as it sounds, TW is one of the things I missed the most!
