I've seen worse than that in gear oils myself... Unless you're able to pull a lot of metal out of the oil (which seems you weren't able to) it should be fine.
The "paste" on the plug is also normal if the plug has a magnet (if there was an issue, there'd be a huge amount of gritty "fuzz" all over it).

    Run it.

the particles look normal -- and the magnet is doing its job which is great. Here is my front diff plug -- I have another bolt waiting for when I replace the fluid next but I have a skid underneath and will be good until then :anonymous:

Been gone for a couple weeks, I have a new question. The battery has been out of the car on a trickle charger and today I went to take my caliper off but the pads are engaged, any idea why that is?
    They are powerstop calipers.
    How can I unengaged them?
Edit:( I opened the bleeder to maybe release some pressure but it didn’t hiss or sound pressurized.)
Edit 2: I think they just surface rusted together. I didn’t realize how close they sit with the pistons disengaged. I forced it off.

It happens when it sits idle for a while, especially when it has been damp, high humidity or raining. Most common cause is the pads seize on the rotors. It doesn't take long for the rotors to get a coating of rust on them too. Just start it up and try moving it backwards a little. You should hear a good clunk when the pads break free from the rotors if that was the problem. If that doesn't work and you have 4wd, put it in 4L and creep forward or backwards a bit. You'll also probably hear noise as the pads clear off the rust on the rotors when you drive off or step on the brakes.

I just pulled really hard, there was a square where they had rusted together.

I am removing my Cv axles to reboot them and I want to clean up the steering knuckle while I am at it.(among other things) Here is a picture of what I am looking at.
    IMG_2820.jpg
I am wire wheeling and respraying it. I just remove bolts 1-4 then slide out sensor 5 right?
When I spray it should I avoid inside and on the mating surface? I may just end up cleaning it off as it actually looks good but I still want to remove it to replace the seal.

Also it looks like my LBJ has leaked out its grease, I have new LCA’s I will throw on when I buy my lift but I only want to align once.

Should I put my new questions in the first post? I don’t want to make a new thread for each question I have, so I thought I would
    keep this one going.

Doubt a new post would get any more traction than this one. I'd answer your question but I haven't had to do this yet on my truck, damn toyota reliability :taco:
