I have a 2024 Tacoma, which I love! It's a premium, TRD offroad, longbed, crewcab. It does a few little annoying things that I don't know how to sort out.
#1 digital gauges don't stay on the first setting I like that shows the boost gauge and average mpg, it randomly changes itself to the third setting when I start the engine, which shows a "settings" gear in the middle.
#2 Maybe I'm going crazy, but my freaking rear seat moves itself all the way back at random after I shut the car off. I'm tall so I have it most of the way back, but I'm constantly having to move it forward when I get in the truck. There are no seat memory buttons, so how the do I fix this?
#3 there's something loose in the crew cab that knocks on the plastics when I drive over small road bumps and I can't seem to find the source of the damn noise. It almost sounds like it could be above the headliner. I'm just hoping somebody else had that issue and found the source of the noise.

Otherwise I really love driving this truck, it's awesome!

On #1, you can change those. If the third setting is the one that comes on, you can just put the gauges that you want on that third setting.

On #2, can you clarify that? The rear seat is moving? Or are you talking about the seatback of the forward seat? Either way I've never had my seats move at all from my settings. I agree that a truck of this caliber should have seat memory. My 25 year-old LX470 has seat memory.

Noise can bounce around and be hard to locate. It could be a seat belt buckle bouncing around or this:

…except in many many cases the settings don’t survive ignition off/on. The TPMS gauge is the worst culprit. It’s infuriating.

I found a procedure that prolongs the TPMS. Turn the truck to "ON" without starting it. With key fob present, push the "ON" button twice without foot on brake. Once display fully boots up with the TPMS on, then start the truck. That seems to stick with me for quite some time.

Interested to see if that can be replicated by others.

It's the seat back that angles back on it's own. I heard there's a exit assist feature on the Tundra that purposely moves the seat back when you exit the vehicle, but that setting isn't adjustable on the Tacoma.

If you change it to the third display setting then it just shows a settings gear in the middle of the display. I want it to show the adaptive cruise mode in the middle all the time. It definitely does this at random, I leave it set the same way every time I drive the vehicle. Every 4th or fifth time get in the car to drive it has changed itself. Super annoying.

Yes I did make sure it wasn't seat belt buckles or receivers. Its something that knocks on plastic somewhere in the crew cab area and its driving me nuts. I need to have a friend get in the back seat and see if we can find the source of the noise.

Gonna sound crazy but I spent days chasing a plastic knocking/rattle. In my case it was the receiver hitch pin in the glovebox. It was buried under my paperwork and other stuff. It sounded for all the world like it was from back right corner of the cab though. Maybe check your glovebox for anything that could potentially rattle.

Regarding #3, is it possible that the noise you're hearing is the glove box? All the 4th gens have a gap between the glove compartment and it's door that's seemingly too large. Press up on the glove box door and you'll see how much play exists. Maybe that's what's rattling when you hit bumps? If so there are a number of solutions you can find online, including these inexpensive plastic spacers. I added these (or a product just like them) to mine. I didn't notice a rattle before, but now the glove box door fits nice and snug.

I have a random rattle over railroad tracks that sounds like it's in the headliner vehicle and the driver's seat.

The 3 dash presets can all be changed.. just change them all to the same thing so whatever it chooses is still what you want

I have/had the same issue. I would be willing to bet you are making contact with the recline button for the seat back. You bump it a little every time you get in and out. Try being very conscious of your leg and butt when you get in and out.

You can change what’s in the middle section too. If you want adaptive cruise info in the middle on all 3 pages you can do that.

The only restrictions I can figure out are that only certain pieces of data are available in each position (left/center/right). But as long as it’s in the list for that position you can set that data on 1, 2, or all 3 pages.

I’m. Not sure what the issue is with some of y’all’s TPMS. That’s what I have displayed and it stays there all the time.

the tpms bug has been posted here for a while. people with tpms on their primary preset have an issue where it will change it to another one... dunno what the issue is but it doesn't seem to affect you if you dont have tpms on your main setting.

i have boost left, hybrid right and blank center on preset 1, tpms left and trip 2 right with settings in the middle on preset 2 and 3.

I’ve tried the TPMS gauge on both sides of the cluster, and on 1, 2 and 3. Makes no difference. Consistently switches to something else on ignition off/on.

    It’s all discussed here:

I believe you. I’m just saying it doesn’t happen on mine. Hope someone figures out a solution on that. It’s about the only piece of info among all of that stuff that I really care about.

yep, i have been in multiple threads about this. my wife has some kind of magnet for finding nails and wanted tpms on the dash. i like boost/battery. i drive the truck on my in office days and on weekends. she drives it the rest of the week.

leaving preset 1 on boost/battery and then preset 2/3 on tpms/trip2 has worked. she can hit left or right and get the tpms setting if she wants.

I had an annoying rattle/vibration and it turned out to be my sunglasses in the overhead glasses storage compartment. Might want to check that
