So after much much thought and research I pulled the trigger and went to Marv for a sub box and set of hybrid audio components along with his adapter plates!

All to excited to get working on this hopefully this weekend after gathering some parts needed here and there.

    Couple questions:
-what have you guys done to cover the holes left by the stupid factory sub that looks presentable/professional?
-Second there is a lot of debate on sealing the doors for better sound. So, by chance I stumbled on these while buying some stuff on ebay (wires) and am curious if anyone else has given them a try in place of sealing the door.

    pic of parts so far!

Marv is a great guy and you got an awesome set of speakers. The product that you proposed for deadening is actually a rain shield for the speaker and will do nothing for acoustics. You need to look into products such as Raamat or Sound Deadener Showdown to deaden and seal your doors. Check out this thread for more info. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/audio-video/59941-my-deadening-project.html

Debadged tailgate - Limo tinted windows - Sockmonkey bed decals - Fully custom upgraded stereo 9 speakers w/custom built subwoofer box 1200 watts total power - swapped white and blue LED gauges - integrated backup camera - removed front mud flaps - All interior lights swapped with LEDS
I just did a full install in mine, At first I put just my 6x9's in the front doors with my upgraded head unit and that was it for a while. Then i ordered the rest of my stuff rear components, amps, sound deadener. etc. etc. When i went back to finish I sealed the doors up completely and hit everything with sound deadener, definitely noticed a big difference. By sealing the doors you effectively turn your door into a somewhat sealed speaker box. And the reduction of road noise is worth it alone IMO. Those types of baffles just protect from moisture and whatnot. Wouldn't really come close to the results of sealing up and deadening.

I like that box Is that for a 10? I built something similar to that for my access cab.

ya, well 2011 to be exact lol! It will fit right between the two rear seats of the access cab although I will have to move the cubby and factory sub if you can even call it that.
