ya i got pretty far in this one road that led way down into a little area where people had a ton of targets set up. i started on the main road that just leads to the peak, but it got pretty slushy up top and i couldnt go anywhere. lots of the side roads had gates though...

Looking for some advice here. Anyone ever deal with an MIP citation? It sounds like most of the time you can get a diversion class that expunges it from your record...

Well and MIP isn't tjay bad but you can take diversion. Its not cheap but will seal l/take it off your record. 90 days of class at like $45 or whatwver per class like a few times a week from my memory.

Depends on yur future career choice. Any infraction removes you from high end military or security jobs. For instance, Lockheed Martin will eliminate candidates who have ANY speeding tickets because it shows you can't obey laws and do not take them seriously. They will also hint that you lack patriotism for the needed work
The private and most other government sectors dont care as much as long as it isn't a felony and you can still drive

Since it probably happened in Corvallis and was issued by the Corvallis Police Department, you'll probably be fine if its your first MIP violation. The judge in Corvallis prefers to send people to diversion. It costs like $200 I think but it removes it from your record for most thing. Not sure about government level stuff like Mike was talking about. You will live and probably won't lose your license for the 90 days they threaten. I speak from experience. I was a month away from being 21 :( :frusty:

Yea it happened it Corvallis. That's good to hear. The only thing about the MIP I'm worried about is he won't send me to diversion because I have a couple speeding tickets on my record. Hopefully he's feeling lenient and it is my first MIP after all. Not driving until my court date, the cop took my license. Kinda frustrating having to bike to campus when I live out past Walnut St.

What I am worried about...I got a damage property citation too which is a misdemeanor. I pulled a screen out of window. Thinking it was my house we don't lock our ground level window, so I was going to go in that way because I didn't have my keys, but since it wasn't actually my house...Definitely not drinking that much again or at least not with people who don't keep on eye on you.

LOL at removing the wrong screen. but finally a topic i can contribute to here. ive gotten a few MIPs and PCSs here in corvallis since ive been here. just go to the judge and say its your first time and they will have you sign up for the diversion class. you can only divert 1 MIP and 1 PCS. so 2 all together. you can still drive right now it really doesnt matter, i wouldnt bike to campus all the way from walnut lol....

after you go through the class you will be on probation for a year, so as long as you dont get in trouble for anything it will be completely off your record.

EDIT: also dont worry about having speeding tickets. i had like 3 when i got my MIP and i was fine. I actually got the PCS first, then a year later after(literally a few weeks after the probation ended) i got the MIP. dont worry they see alot worse than underage kids drinking.

also should have said that the class you take for MIP is the impact class at OSU. I think it was for like 2 weekends for 2 hours each. cant really remember, but it is very laid back and relaxed. the teachers are like grad students and they really are just trying to inform you.

are these like recent tickents? or do they still take it into consideration once they are off your insurance? my tickets just came off my insurance since it has been 3 years and my rate was cut in half. I worked at a temp agency over summer and had to run background checks on people that had CDLs and as long as their tickets were over 10 years old it was okay.

Lockheed didn't care if it wasn't on your permanent record, but they do go back to birth. I remember the application being about 22 pages without the app for security clearance, drug screening, and background check forms

That is awesome to hear actually. Not exactly my best moment in life, but live and learn.

PCS? Nothing is coming to mind for what that stands for.
