need recommendation for tonneau cover

Hey Guys, I was hoping for a recommendation of a soft tonneau cover, either a roll up or tri fold. My concern is, I don't want a mounting track that prevents me from using the side rails for tie down's and allows me to use my bed extender. From what I've scene, most cover brackets cut into the bed width and prevent you from using the moveable cleats. Also I'm hoping to stay on the cheaper side (no $800 rec's please).

I had the access roll up and it was awesome.it fit between the bed and rails.didn't effect the cleats at all.mine was $400
They used to make the cover with removable ladder racks

i bought the tonneau pro tri fold and am very happy with it 279 off of ebay.... i added the supplied seal for the tailgate in the front where there was a small gap fixed it up nicely... for the price u cant beat it

 

I have the access rollup and,paint diddy's right it doen't get in the way of the cleats

 

TonnoPro Tri Fold. Paid about 279 too from Auto Anything. I absolutely love it, easy on, easy off, looks great. I too got the kit free with the water seal for the tailgate and looks great as well. Quick and easy, comes off in 5 min . I can also keep my rail cleats on underneath.

The only thing that was an issue, was that I bought a bed extender, and when I put it in the inside bed direction, I could not clip the cover down (the Quick release pull latch clips) were in the way of the extender. I could have cut them a little, but I called Tonno Pro about the issue and they sent me another set of the screw type latches at no cost that are holding the back portion on, they cleared and worked like a champ. A little more work (not quick release), but I couldn't find another option without trimming the quick latches. They seemed like a great company to deal with in my opinion.

All in all, I love this product, it is about 6 months old so we will see how it holds up once it starts hitting 110 degrees this summer! Only use aerospace 303 on it, as the warranty strictly states that anything else may void a claim to the warranty. Thats what the rep told me over the phone anyway.

Its a soft cover so I know you think it might not offer theft protection, but I figure if someone is going to steal something, they are going to do it anyway, no cover will stop a thief. I got the pop n lock for the tailgate too just for the added protection, because if you can pull the tailgate down, you can unclip and remove the cover.

Oh yeah, my bike rack bar stays on too underneath, all concealed. Hey Brians05taco, did your remove the Tonno Pro decal on the back of yours? I tried a little and it seemed like it may cause damage to the vinyl? I havent figured that one out yet, but it doesn't bother me too much.

 

I have the access literider, paid 270 shipped from truckalterations.com if I remember correctly. Haven't had any issues and the bed rails are still usable.

 

I just bought the Extang Trifecta. It is soft material and folds back in sections.
I have not installed yet though. More secure than most.

I liked the roll up as it gave me more use of the bed when i needed it. Only had it for 2500 miles.

I have an Extang Trifecta. Works great. I bought the "signature series" with the canvas-looking (but waterproof) material. Fits great, looks good, easy to take on/off. It also does not obstruct the rails - you can put your tie-down cleats on and leave them there if you want to. It's quite water tight as well.

I finished installing my Access about 2 hours ago. 40 minute install, ordered on Monday, came in today (Portland, ME). For 340 bucks from Truck Alterations, you can't beat it!

 

Is the Access L/E worth the $100 more than the LiteRider? What's the difference?

 

I got my Lund Tri fold for under $280 for streetside auto with there discount code on here.
The latches secure into the bedrail system, but do dot effect bedrail cleat use. It flips back and secures in only a couple minutes, and I have full use of bed and bed cleats.

 

I bought the Access Literider ($280 from Truckalterations) and the Trailseal ($20) and together they don't leak at all. I have never seen the LE version but can't imagine it's $100 better than the literider. The LE comes with a seal for the front and it also has a spring-loaded release in the rear that opens both sides, where the literider has a spring-load left latch and a manual right latch. Here's mine on my 1st gen:

Installed the Extang Trifecta yesterday. Looks great and you can still use the tie down rails. Very tight looking. Comes pre-assembled so install is fast. When it folds back, everything folds back. The metal arches are an integral part of the whole unit. Easy spring release to fold. Looks like it will last a long time. Lifetime warranty they say. Paid $400 from the dealer accessory dept. I am sure you can get it for less.

I love your bed extender, what kind is it and do they make one for the 2nd Gen? I have an Amp Extender, and while its cool, I have issues becasue when its flipped over for non use, the quick release latches for the tonneau cover get in the way, Tonno sent me some screw latches, but its a pain to screw up and down to get the cover off....

 

i have an under cover se i really like it alot can hold over a 1,000 pounds on the top of it if you ever want to put a ten or roof rack on it and load it up. plus it offer great protection and can be removed in like half a minute completely.
