We did check the travel. The Bilstein actually travels past the chromed section and the OME stops just before the end of it.

Yes the bottom of the shocks are not lined up in the second picture. The OME does have a much larger diameter shock rod though.

The length of the chromed section is 5 and 9/16 on the 5100 and the OME is 5 and 1/4

Right. I was kinda hoping you could have taken an actual measurement. I'll do it next time I come accross a set.

As you saw from the picture, the extended lengths are longer on the 5100 vs the OME. The compressed length does not really matter as much since you will never get it to compress that far with a spring on it and the bump stops on the LCA.

However, comparing the 5100's to the OME's is not going to be the same as comparing the coilovers to the OME's which i believe is what this thread is about.

Wait this horse aint dead yet,ha. So to truly say the only difference in these two kit is "adjustability" then does:
    1. both kits ride equally smooth?
    2. give you a full 3" lift?
Think i've almost decided to go with the OME kit with aal (for non-tsb) and LR UCA'S if i can get a full 3" level lift with a good ride? what do you guys think?

    note: i have a 2010 DCLB 2WD PRERUNNER

Yes, the OME lift will give you 3" but only if you buy the additional top spacers.

And if you want even more lift with the OME get the heavy coils (886). This will give you almost 4" if you keep your stock front bumper (The heavy coils are really for aftermarket bumpers).

But isnt this a bad idea? I mean you will have a harsh ride and stress your cv angles.

No , don't go with the 886 unless you are installing a steel aftermarket bumper

Had the Toyotec Ultimate Lift Kit w/ Total Chaos UCA’s on my 2010 Taco for several months now..No complaints. Rides perfect. However, I towed 2 bikes to the track several weeks ago and the rear was kind of sagging. Thinking about buying a leaf pack?

3" OME lift with 885 coils on nitrocharger 90000 shocks with 5mm trim packer on driver's side, TC UCAs, Rear OME Dakar leafs with nitrocharger shocks, All-pro U-bolt flip kit and 3* Toytec shims, extended rear brakelines, 16" Raceline Rockcrusher 887 wheels with 3.6" backspacking, BFG KM2 305/70/16 tires, Doug Thorley header, Doug Thorley catback exhaust, Volant CAI with ram air, Weathertech floor mats, Kicker 12" sub, Kenwood 500W RMS amp, Relentless Fab front and rear bumpers, 4.88 gears, custom flatbed with swing out tire carrier
anyone know the shock diameter of the OME? I saw a set of 2.5" Kings and that was huge. Just curious where the OME stands in comparison to this and I've never came across those numbers before.

I could go either way with the lift, OME or Toytec Ultimate, but my only concern is which one would be better tailored to a heavy aftermarket front end, like the ARB winch bumper? I know with OME you get different shocks in the front to compensate, but does the Toytec Ultimate just take the extra weight in stride, or is it really not designed for that kind of additional weight? I'm lookin' to pull the trigger on both the lift and the bumper in a month or so. Liquidating some stuff on ebay to come up with the remaining required funds.

I would suggest the OME 886's with OME shocks
