Got a sweet deal on a tow hitch! Seems as thought the '04 hitch doesn't seem to fit right under the bumper (frame rails on the truck are too wide)

    3taco,

Not sure why that receiver will not fit BUT Capetaco12 is giving good info....all Gen 1's should be the same.....IF IT IS FOR A TACOMA......

I found it easier to take the WHOLE rear bumper off ; marking pieces as they came off, then put the puzzle back together with the receiver going 1st !!!

Replaced my steering rack bushings. What a pain in the arse that was! If i was to do it again i think i could do it in 1/4 of the time. Made a few mistakes on the way which put me back some. Going to go out and take it for a test drive now. Too bad no allignment shops are open.

Changed the oil and used a OEM filter. Then i lifted the rear and drove it in the air to see where the "noise" was coming from. Turns out its coming from the rear left differential. Could it be the brakes or inside the diff?

Hit mud often? Chances are that its mud in the brakes or even low brakes. However it could very well be a rear wheel bearing. i would take it apart inspect the pads and clean the mud out of the shoes. Or jack the rear of the truck up and grab the tire at 3 and 9 and push one way pull the other, if the wheel wiggles then you probably need a new bearing.

I washed, waxed, the outside cleaned my engine and engine bay. Used some Mothers Back-to-Black on all my black trim and it made it look brand new. Cleaned the haze off of my headlights using some stuff called "Plast-x". And finally removed the bug deflector so now it looks much cleaner.

Sorry its actually the passenger side rear.

It sounds like something is rubbing, kinda like metal on metal. It also gets faster sounding as i drive faster. But seems to go away a little bit when i brake. Thinking its the brake shoes or drum. Doesnt sound like a bearing and hopefully nothing in the axle.
