Who thinks the regular cab will disappear after the redesign?

I bet the redesign gets pushed back a year or so. With the catastrophe in Japan. I'm sure a redesign is the last thing on Toyota's mind. Priority one, get back to full production. From what I'm reading full production will possibly happen in the fall for Toyota & their suppliers.

Good find, however I wonder if the update date at the bottom of the page is correct? It states that the vehicle availability schedule was last updated 6/14/09.

Nice catch Walleyguy! I think we just have to wait and see. I am waiting to make a decision on a new gen 3 or last of the gen 2's once official toyota photos and model info is available. Hopefully we don't have to much longer to wait till we hear something definitive.

I'm in the same position. If they update the mechanicals to have the Dual VVT-i 4.0 V6 for 2012, and/or some other mechanical improvements for better mpg I'll go with the '12. Otherwise it will be a new 2011.

    Unfortunately I'm getting impatient.

Ok, so another post saying that Taco will stay the same for 2012. I am glad, since I have a 2010.

"With a new look planned for 2014, the Tacoma stay the course and keep their “if it is not broke, do not fix it” attitude “in 2012. To improve the Tacoma, a further factor of inflammation and nutrition will be available to V Access -6 Cab and Double Cab Prerunners sold with TRD Off-Road Package.
Based on 2009 SEMA Toyota concept car, the extras include drooling double adjustment as a rear differential lock and additional electronic TRD cat-back exhaust with T / X Pro Package.

Learn my lesson from last time.
    Here is the link... :)

no way, website was updated otherwise Prius plug in would not be on the list and they'd be talking about 2010 models not 2012 on there...

some webpages the number at the bottom would have to be manually changed not automatically into the code to change it as it gets updated...

anyway we'll soon know more but it's no surprise it's minor changes to tacoma for MY2012...

I haven't read the article, however how the hell can you call it a "redo," and better yet, how the hell can you use the word "thoughtful" to describe a "redo," in the application. It just sounds wrong as far as wording is concerned. Thoughtful? How about long time coming, or its about time, etc. etc.

I'm also really interested in what Toyota means by "Minor Changes" on the fleet vehicle link summary posted. IN the grand scheme of changes to a model of vehicle, I'd think a "redesign" would be pretty self explanatory, "major" changes would involve an engine or something related to either the drive train, or a serious body panel renovation to the extent you can barely recognize it, and minor changes would be cosmetic/aesthetics/detail/interior/exterior feature types of things like upgraded fog lights, or changing the package configurations around to have more of something, etc, etc. But that's just me. I await Toyota's definition of "minor" with eager anticipation.

to me minor changes means "cup holder enhancement" from 2010. What are they gonna do, change it back?
