my dad got my truck serviced while i was gone, oil change, fluid checks, those little things, and he told me the guy said i needed to change my differential fluid in the back. Does anyone know where i can get the fluid, and where it is on the truck so i can change it out? Also, ive honestly only used my differential like 3-5 times in its lifetime and was wondering if that means anything. so "if you dont use it, do you lose it?"(40 year old virgin)

x2 any time you drive the truck you use the rear differential.

The differential is in the rear axle. Theres a fill plug in the middle part of the pumpkin of the axle on the back side and a drain plug on the bottom of the axle. Make sure you remove the fill plug before the drain plug. Check your owners manual for the gear oil weight.

Without the differential your truck wouldn't go anywhere. He meant when your tire rotates when you are moving forward or backward.

I live in Gahanna, which is just northeast of Columbus and very close. I go to the OSU Newark Branch. Hopefully we can find some good trails around Columbus lol
