According to google, 172 miles. lol It's not really a big concern to me. This is NY, things rust... I'd also like to get an aftermarket bumper anyway at some point since I think this bumper is crap in general, but don't have the money yet.

AWESOME! Took about 15 minutes and works like a charm. Dealer swore this wouldn't work when I ordered the part and stated that they wouldn't take the part back.
    Thanks TW.

Ooops maybe I posted in the wrong spot. Anyway I added inter. wipers to my truck. After buying the truck, i realized how inconvienant it is not to have them. The dealer made it sound like they would have to rebuild the whole truck to add them. After a few minutes on this site, I called them and ordered the part and did it myself. Plus it looks factory. Very easy

    Sorry for the confusion.

Could you please post the part number. I got the part number off of TN and it was either wrong or I have an idiot for a parts person. I was also told that it was the same part number as the wiper sw in the Tundra.

His truck is an '08 but here's the link to my walkthru complete with numbers and pictures and yes it is the same part the Tundra uses, the x-runners also take the same part. The part # give for the 09 is different but it may or may not be the same item with a different label.

I just did this mod and the dome light is a little dim for my taste. I went with the true white as well, the map lights are great so I think I am gonna order the bigger square led setup that I saw somewhere on here for the dome light!

Just wanted to thank you for that link. I ordered the wiper sw which will probably arrive tomorrow. I have an 09 and hopefully this will work. I noticed a few empty sockets in the two white connectors when I removed the switch. I have heard that the 09 did have some changes in wiring compared to the 05-08 Tacomas. I will find out tomorrow and let you know if it did work or not. The link was a great help in removing the covers. The top cover came right off without pinching that clip. Overall accessing the switch was a breeze thank you again

I have looked at this a hundred times, is there a more detailed article on this somewhere and I am missing it? I want to do this mod but I only see the three pics and not much info.

Help...I have a basic 09 regular cab Tacoma. When I tried to look up the part number for the inter wipper, it gave me 2 choices. 1st is w/o stability ctrl and 2nd w/stability ctrl.

Being new to Tacoma and since the part is not cheap (for a little stalk) I just wanted to make sure I get the correct part and save me some headache. Do I get the one without stability ctrl or do I get the one with stability ctrl? My last question is 84652-04141 have or does not have stability ctrl? TIA.

With or without stability control, the part number is the same ending in 04141
In other words, its the same whether you have it or not. Please read previous posts in this thread. There are several Toyota vehicles that use this switch.

Read my next post after this one also.

Please read this thread elsewhere in the forum as it will explain the whole situation regarding the correct wiper switch

Any one replace their two-speed wipers on 2009 Tacoma?

As far as anyone ordering the 09 wiper switch and reporting that the intermittent works in reverse, well this might be a normal situation for the 09. I have an 09 Prius that has intermittent wipers and they work in reverse. I think Toyota has changed the intermittent wiper operation so that the first notch is fast and the last one is slow. I tried this on other 09's and its the same thing.
If you want a wiper sw to work slow at the first notch, order the 08 part number. I have no clue as to why Toyota did this change for some 09's or the logic behind it.

Thanks for the footnotes. I called the dealer and they don't even have the 09 part # 84652-02610 in their catalog.

Toyota is just conforming to the rest of the world. My 09 Taco works fast to slow, my previous VW Jetta and Ford Explorer also worked this way. My wife's Nissan Murano also works this way. Her previous two Ford Aerostar vans also worked that way. The previous Tacos were the oddball.

Order the part number for the 05-08. I installed this in my 09 reg cab and it works correctly and not in reverse. It is a direct fit also. As far as your dealer not being able to find that part number, all he had to do was take a vin number off of any 09 Tacoma access cab or db cab and his computer would have pointed him to the part number you requested. He would not find it if he put in a 09 reg cab as it is not available for that model. Then again, the back up cam is also not available for the reg cab, but we know different on that one too. Every 09 Tacoma has a rear cam installed in the tailgate and is wired right up to the headline above the rear view mirror. All you have to supply is the mirror which is available from the manufacturer for half the price that Toyota wants. There is a thread on this mod too in here.

I put the 09 number in mine, and to tell you the truth, it makes sense. Turn the dial up and it goes faster, turn it down and the speed goes down. I've been called dyslectic before, but I think all the other switches are backwards.
