So my projector headlights fogged up... :/ trying to figure out the best method to fix them. What do you guys think? Silica packet? Remove thembake them and reseal? I'm worried cuz Its supposed to be raining the next few days.

 

Best solution is to remove, do a quick bake, then re-silicone them good. It'll be the fastest/surest way to do it. Silica packet might work, but then again it can get pretty hot in there, and might be a pain to get out... let alone scratch any paint (if BHLM or such is done to them).

 

Yeah i figured removing them would be the best bet.. :/ what a PITA. oh well. So I remove them. Pull the bulbs, heat them up, then split apart? or just press together and add silicone? Also, the boot on the bulb is cut a bit because i have hids, and it needed to be cut to fit over. could that be part of it?

 

Yea that could, just seal that part of the boot up with silicon too after re-baking. Shouldn't have to pull them apart I'd imagine, just have to bake the moisture out. You can do a much lower temp than when you pulled it apart the first time over a little longer duration, should be fine and less risk of melting it

 

Well the lights are black housing ebay ones. (that's why they got moisture in em) so I haven't cracked them open at all yet. So should I split them or just bake them to get the moisture out, then reseal with extra silicone? Plus around the boot? So the oven temp at like the lowest setting for a few minutes, then push them togther and add silicone correct?

 

Someone kind of just offered to buy my wheels and tires....
