Oregon and Washington BS thread

He has 33's. He's saying his truck has had 33s the entire time he's owned it so he doesn't know what power he is missing since he never drove it with stock wheels.

 

What would you like to know?

 

Yep, expect the complete opposite climate and weather than what you're used to.

 

Leaving out an important decimal point. They are 32.8". Basically a 33.

EDIT: Actually a lot of sites I've seen refer to them as exactly a 33.

 

Yeah man. I was 96% sure it was true but I googled it because you made me question my memory.

 

Typically on 16" rim size:

31s= 265-70/16 measure out at 30.5"
32s= 265-75/16 measure out at 31.5
33s= 285-75/16 measure out at 32.5

 

As soon as you set one up! Maybe I'll bring the 4Runner.... It'll be nice and flexy without rear shocks

Went out and measured them and they came out to almost exactly 32" actually. Must have been the super swampers that where 33". I thought the Toyo's where the same. haha. Apparently not.

 

Ya thats definitely part of the reason for moving to WA. Love the weather in comparison to living in sweltering heat and constant sun. Just got back from Seattle over the 4th of July weekend to actually prospect areas. My school Id be transferring to is in Bellevue, looked like a nice area. Curious to know what are some good areas to take a look at in the vicinity. Wouldnt happen to be any electricians on this forum from WA would there?

Just so you know, it's an expensive area. It's not too bad but it's one of the nicer regions. You'll see a lot of nice cars there. What are you going to school for?

 

Thats what I gathered from driving through that area. Lots of equestrian properties and big houses. Seemed like an upscale area which a working class kid cant afford like myself. Asked around about Renton while I was there and talked to a bartender who coincindentally just moved from Vegas to Capitol Hill area who said Renton wasnt the best spot to be? I mean, Im from Vegas but Id say Capitol Hill is a spot I wouldnt be throwing stones from about other areas. Also traveled north to Edmonds and Lynwood area, didnt look too bad. Any input? Also Im going to school for Electrical, its a non union organization that pretty much electrician college more or less.

 

My mom grew up in Renton and I like the area. Currently my grandparents live in Maple Valley which is really starting on an upward turn in terms or quality. Other than that I mean my uncle lives in Burien; not the nicest city but hey he is only 10 min off of the sound and we go fishing all the time..... Can't wait for them pink salmon to start up soon!

 

Renton is not too bad. It's a nice starter place but it is a little more affordable so it's easier for the hooligans to live there. If you live on the out skirts of Renton then it's not too bad. Like stated below, I recommend the Maple Valley area. I actually want to purchase a house in that area but a little further into the mountains away from people. I've never been a fan of Seattle. Each area has it's own little problems in Seattle. I would recommend the west Seatte area as it's a little more affordable and not as trashy. Stay away from White Center though. I haven't lived or spent enough time north of Bellevue so I can't really comment on those areas.

Burien has come a long way. They're really starting to develop the area. It used to be kind of trashy but they're doing a good job cleaning it up a bit. My girlfriend lives right on the sound at Three Tree Point. Fishing made easy. Just walk out on the beach

 

Agreed on this. I had to travel for some on site work and I maxed out my expense report.

Anyone ever owned a diesel (powerstroke,cummins, duramax)? Out of curiosity I'm trying to put together cost of ownership in my head.

A lot of guys say they get between 16 and 18 MPG in town in their stock diesels. That's about equivalent to what I get in the FJ. So, assuming diesel comes down to the price of regular gas at some point soon, wouldn't my gas bill remain basically the same? (Besides the fact they are designed to have a longer range so they have bigger tanks)

Besides that, I know oil changes are more expensive and all powertrain parts are bigger and more expensive. But on a day-to-day basis it appears to me like the cost of ownership would be pretty darn close to what I'm at now.
