I don't think I'm going crazy, but I have a stock Toy Prerunner with the fogs.

    My only changes are bulbs.

But, when I have the fogs on and lights on and the flash the high beams, the fogs temporarily cut off.

Is this a feature I never heard about?

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
It's supposed to be like that. Engineering thought process is "If you need your high beams, why would you need your fogs?" You're not supposed to use highs in fog due to the albedo of the fog itself -- it'll be harder to see what's in front of you.

and also you use a lot more battery if you use all your lights.. like Delmarva said it harder for you to see in front of you because the lights get kinda blurry

I did the fog light on anytime mod because I drive deer infested roads every night. The fogs help to fill in some dark spots to the side and close to the front with the high beams on.

I also leave mine on during the day as DRL, for safety.

    It's all personal preference really.

What he said. I've done the fog light mod as well to light up the road in front of me when the Highs are on.

Search in this forum for the fog light mod. It will only take you 15 minutes max, after that you can have your high beam on also with your fog light.

In some states (like NC) it's actually illegal to have fogs on at the same time as high beams, probably for the reasons mentioned above. I failed my inspection for this reason, so I had to reverse the change to pass. I put it back the next day.

    It's illegal in PA also.

Illegal to have the fogs on with high beams
Illegal to have driving lights on with low beams

Perhaps its a federal law that requires car manufacturers to set it that way?

OK, don't know about Ca, but i pass all good, clean, innocent visual inspections so don't think I'lll ever get pulled over.

I'm clean cut and have US flags on the back a support law enforcement on a small decal.

If that dont' get me free from da law, .......

It is also illegal in California. But it's like the front license plate law, most officers won't pull you over for that but if they pull you over for something else they might ding you for all of it.

I searched the forum and saw only the NON-stock fog lamp mod for on all the time.

Is there a mod for STOCK fogs ON ALL THE TIME?

    thanks

It's illegal to have more than two sets of driving/fog lights on at any time.
