I really like my 2010 Tacoma but when I haul any kind of load that is more than a couple of hundred pounds the rear end starts to squat. I don't haul very often but I would like to increase my load capacity without the rear end hunkering down. Is there an unobtrusive way to stop that happening that doesn't involve re-springing the whole rear end? Does the TSB cover this year and model Tacoma?

    Thanks,
    zdog

It's going to squat as you add weight...You can install an AAL, but that will lift the rear slightly when not loaded.

Your should be new enough, you should be able.to get the tsb done. Your other options are some helper springs, or an aal. I have a set of helwig helpers that I run when I haul my quad. Tighten them up when I need them, loosen them when I dont. Check ebay, or Amazon. toyotec carries a set of airbags, but it is a.firestone kit and about $300. Just my $0.02

Yeah, the "Harsh Ride" TSB. They will replace your current leaf pack with a better one that will be stiffer and will cause your rear to sit up a little higher (roughly an 1" higher) Seeing your truck is an 2010 it should be under warranty. Go to your local dealer and address this problem to them, tell them you are having a horrible ride in the rear and tell them it squats with A load. It just all depends which Dealership you go to, I've seen people on here get denied the TSB work. I got lucky and had no problems getting it done...

I put air bags on my 04. Didn't have to mess around with the leafs and the ride stays the same. I just add or release air depending on the load.

    TSB kinda helps though.
I brought my dads 2010 TRD OR in, and they did the tsb no problem. Search the site for the PDF file and bring a printed copy with you. The 2wds get replaced bump stops as well IIRC.

If you are going to be consistently carrying loads above 500 lbs then I would recomend going with airbags. Of course it won't hurt to get the "harsh ride" TSB completed if you are still under warranty. It's not a fix all but it will help.

    .
I just installed the firestone Riderite air bags and I love em, my loads vary but I have a cap and rack on mine so there is always weight on my rears. I've put on 2 inch aal's and rear Bilstein 5100's as well so my load capacity is much higher now than before but, the air bags are there specifically to prevent the rears from squatting under loads.

    x2.

After 4-5 years they sag like shit. My front is actually a bit higher than my back giving me a lil bit of bro lean that I really don't like.

Dakars soon. I'm just concerned about bleeding the brakes when installing the extended brake lines.

And the disposable wheel bearings, and the shitty-from-factory front diff bearings.

Edit-Not sure the exact weight of all this lumber but I was sitting an inch off the bumpstop.

Bleeding the brakes isn't too hard. JLee did a write up where he used a pneumatic bleeder (not necessary but makes the process very simple).

I thought to get full flex out of them you do?

I might have to have a look at that. Thanks for the heads up. Reppified.

Maybe if you are doing crazy flex , I experimented with my truck and flexed the rear so the passenger side was stuffed and the driver's side at a pretty good droop and had a couple inches of slack still

    Good to know.

BTW - Your guys gas prices are fucking ridiculous. 1.28 for regular? We're at 1.11 here.
