Are the heads of these bolts large enough to have to slide them into the side of the tracks? I could see with a long enough bolt, you could drill a hole or two into the handle of the tool, shovel, ax, etc., pass the bolt thru the tool handle and tighten down with a wing nut/washer set up?

i just used the 9/16' T-slot nuts (tapped through) from fastenal to install my bicycle fork mounts. they work perfectly for that application. I used 3/4 inch bolts to go through inexpensive fork mounts purchased at my LBS. They are light years better than the $95.00 one from Toyota and easier to install. they are not locking mounts but that is what a cable lock is for. I also used t-slot nuts to mount wheel mounts for the front wheel.

    Hey Guys,
I found the Quick Fist a option to consider. I believe it could be drilled out to accept a 3/8" "mounting bolt", which you then could attach the quick fist directly to the bed rail with a T-nut and mount any item you desire. Or, for those who want or need to drop down and have the item mount below the bed rail, simply make a "drop down bracket" out of 1"x 1/8" stock from Home Depot to the desired length. Then, mount the quick fist to the bottom of the drop down bracket, and mount the bracket with the T-nut to the bed rail. This would be ideal for the guys who have a shell or top which you would need to have the mounted item below the bed rail. Just a thought. For those who do not mind a couple of small holes in the side of the bed, simply mount the quick fist anywhere you want directly to the bed. Each quick fist hold 22 lbs. I attached the info sheet of the quick fist, which also hightlights how to use the quick fists to mount a high lift jack.

Thank you for mentioning the Hi-lift instructions, I forgot about that. I'm not sure if it will work, but I'm going to try more research.

Had to use a 1x2 spacer to mount the Quick Fist in the Leer topper and the 1-1/2" elevator bolts worked.

Nice! Thanks for showing these bolts. I've been looking for something like those to fit the rail.

Saw that someone had mounted a fire extinguisher with a QuickFist to their rail system, so I ordered a QuickFist (3" fire extinguisher mount) but then it occured to me I had no idea how to mount it to the rail???? Search here - voila!!! Will head out to the hardware store this weekend and get it done thanks to this forum!!! Printed it all so I can confuse everyone as much as me!!! Thanks again for all your work/research!!!

when doing bed rail bolts there are a couple of options. depends on what you want to do. i made a custom bedrack which covered the rails. so bolt in would'nt work. i fabricated some plug and play bolts that pushed in and with a quarter turn, locked into the rail. put the nut on and good to go.
only downside is i had to make them out of steel and not alluminum.

I found some 1/2 lag bolts that fit. I will post pics later but I will be ordering some of the T slots.
