ya in his other post, he is trying to sell the icons themselves for 700. new they are what, 1400ish? plus the 2400 the kit costs, totaling about 3800 plus taxes which you dont have to pay.

i almost jumped the gun cause i came across the shock post first and did not realize the kit was for a 1st gen

 

yeah... the icons alone are about 1400

i just dont have the money right now, just dumped 1000 in tires and the truck is in the shop getting the cage, still need some stuff for that.

but he said he needs money for a car, i got a smoking deal on a car for 900 bucks, im thinking about seeing if he wants to trade.. then the hard part would be finding out how to get to work. idk im throwing ideas around right now.

But wouldn't you need to sell the coilovers, cause don't they have different bottom mounts for 4WD?!

Sell the CO's, which would result in a cheaper price for the kit then if you seperated it most likely.

Then wait til you have money to spend on New/Used CO's (once your cage done, etc) just a thought?!

 

i dont think there is a difference in the lower mount on the Icons...

both these dudes are running the camburg kit w/ Icon's and they're 4WD and my shocks look exactly like theirs...

i was under the impression they had to be like this to allow the 4wd axels to work...

 

not on 1st gen tacomas

 

oh thats only second gens?

dang i learn something new everyday sweet!

 

as long as it's a "lower cone" style mount and not the "flat" mount the shock will work with 4WD axles
