Ok, so everyone knows that the mudflaps on the 05+ Tacos are stiff and tend to break when they hit stuff (rocks, ice, slush, etc.). I use my Taco to plow my driveway, which means the 'flaps are constantly assaulted by packed snow and ice. Then they fall off...

Can anyone suggest a good aftermarket or OEM solution? I like having the protection of flaps but don't like buying a new set every 3 months.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Its a shame they don't make a heavy rubber like on my past Toyota trucks. Minimal if any problems i remember with those.

With the current ones on my 09, i have already popped 3 of those cheesy little plastic fasteners in just deep snow. I really don't want those flexing back and forth and scuffing the paint. Its not like i make commercials with the truck, but they do take a beating over the course of a Western New York winter.

Kind of wish i would have taken the one's off of my 2000 before it went to the Toyota black hole. I could have at least tried to see if i could make anything happen with those, though i'm not keen on putting old stuff on brand new stuff.

I just talked to Husky Liner about that very thing.
They said they don't make a Tacoma Gen 2 application because 'there is not enough demand'
Let's start an email campaign to get a properly engineered, flexible rubber, custom molded application from a reputable company.
    I'm serious.
Make it a sticky at TN, TW, others.
I am going to call them right now.

Count me in on the email campaign to Husky. How do we make this a sticky?

    Update:
I just got off the phone with Huskyliner VP of product development.
He says he just became aware of a demand for Gen2 Tacoma and is looking into it.
He took my name and number and says he'll respond back.
He asked me to send website links indicating the demand.
I'm going to ask the mods to post a sticky for members who are interested.
    Let's get this thing rolling!

Vote for huskyliner to produce an aftermarket alternative!

I'm in, just need an outline of the message and an email address to send it to.

I'd be very interested in a solution from Husky as well.
