Anyone Wired the Factory Aux Jack into an Aftermarket HU

Has anyone wired the stock AUX jack into an aftermarket HU?

The AUX connector, N2, shows 5 wires with the sheild of the cable being one lead. I usually use 3 leads to provide connectivity for a stero connection, so I am confused by the stock 4th wire.

 

Was actually going to do this sunday. Just got a nee headunit and wanting to keep the stock input. Shouldn't be too hard right? Was thinking I could just use a normal 3.5mm aux cable and cut it and wire it up to the aux harness.

 

I am going to do the same with a new HU install. The wiring diagram looks like the AUX jack wires go right up to the radio connecting jack with no connection points in between. I think all I have to do is pull the pins out of the radio connecting jack and attach them to a 3.5mm plug.

Sounds simple enough but I know how that goes.

 

Yeah, Its a single blue plug for the aux. Should be able to cut It, then wire up the 3.5. I'll try it today or tomorrow. Need to wire up everything else first.

Check out the text file in the first post of this thread. It has the pin outs for the factory aux cable.

THX guys. This should be enough to get me through. I do have the factory Toyota wiring manual.

FWIW it seems the regular radio and the JBL radio uses the same wiring connector for the AUX plug.
