    Hey Bandit,
Smokey's not on your tail and it's not the 80's.

    Get rid of that contraption.

If you want, I can mail you a VCR or BETA player to add to your 80's interior gizmos!

Ramzak must not go on many trail runs. CB's are a valuable tool in a place where cell phones don't work, especially when you have 5+ trucks on the trail and you want to convey information to all of them.

He sounds like a dumbass. Your futuristic cell phone isn't gonna do shit for you in a canyon.

Pics? I actually want to throw it in that area, I don't think I would be able to chop wires and stuff. Thanks if possible!

Uniden Pro 520XL. Rode all around Moab like this, and never missed a beat. Will say, I've had to replace the console side of the velcro after a record hot summer in Alabama. Other than that, it works great.

Antenna is a Larsen NMO27 mounted on a bracket I fabbed. Design is a ripoff of one of the guys here that sells them for the traditional threaded CB mounts.

    Thanks :)

I've been meaning to put an Anderson Power Pole (same as Sermos if you're into RC cars) connector on the 12v in so that I can pull it out easily. I've also got a weather cap for the antenna mount that makes it look like a little GPS or Sat Radio antenna.

Also, the whip on the Larsen is replaceable, and is like a $10 part. If you mangle it, replace it, no big deal. It's the same antenna design as the Wilson stuff (Base loaded 1/4 wave), but for a fraction of the price. Think I paid like $30 for it, new.

Agree 100%, however some places require you to have CB to wheel. Specifically TLCA runs and club events.

I vote for xodeuce's spot. Looks clean, easy to get to and out of the way. Unless your really tall of course.

For a reference, I'm 6' tall, and have no trouble with it. My leg rests against it (and it has some gnarly sweat stainage on the top of the radio) but it's not uncomfortable. I drove across the country with it like that, no problem.

I still need to mount the mic holder prong thingie. I haven't been on a trail ride with anyone who has a cb yet (My girl finally understand the importance in her Jeep), therefore I haven't place a high priority on mounting it.
