Look for 'LonghornTaco' and 'Ghost96Romeo' in the Gallery as they both have (or had) brush guards...

Why put on a brush guard when you could have a REAL bumper?

That All Pro is a pretty nice bumper and I'm carrying around a full set of their armor, but I like the ARB bumper better. You gotta love differences in opinion, they keep it all interest:)ing.

i like both the arb and the allpro. i have an allpro and am pretty happy with it. the arb is more of a no bullshit plow into you bumper, while the allpro offers a little more style with their protection. the three piece design of the allpro i really could do without, but it's done it's job for me pretty well.
it just comes down to what you like better.

    I regret it actually.

It's chrome, and I want the chrome gone now.

Looking to get Iron Bull front and rear.

But, I can't really feel that bad about it. It was my first mod, and I was unaware of TW. Ha

mactaco, can't you herculine that brush guard? no more chrome and it no chipped paint... with those black wheels i think it'd look nice... maybe leave the small bars in front of the headlights chrome...

i'm not claiming to be an expert here, so guys that are help me out...

i'm thinking you'll have to remove the brush guard, and the rubber strips on the front. sand down the areas you want to paint (herculine), then follow the directions on the herculiner can for the normal application process. i'm thinking that should hold up really well, and it will give you the black look you are going for. .

somewhere i saw a picture of a tacoma with a herculined bull bar, it looked good.. i can't find it though..

    any corrections, tips, anyone?

    Bite me! :)

Yes, mine is still for sale, but I posted it on Craigslist last night. A guy is coming to look at it tomorrow.

Personally, I like the look of a brush guard. I even liked mine. However, if you plan to do any off roading, consider long and hard about this purchase... My first wheelin trip cemented my decision to ditch the brush guard for a full bumper. Plus, if you want to mount a winch then you have more options with a full bumper.
