What are you guys running for mostly highway driving?
And do I need to have the TPMS set if I change the pressure from say 30-35lbs?

Discount set them at 29f, 29R

    Thanks, Ryan

Hy Ryan, I am running mine at 38 psi front and back.

They are a 44 psi max. tire and the Rugged Trails that came with the truck were only a 35 psi max. tire (with a recommended run pressure of 29 front, 32 rear).

The Dynapros are a superior tire to the BFGs, and with a stronger make/ heavier rating need a bit more air than the BFGs did.

They will feel 'squishy' at 29-32 psi... 38-42 they feel good. You can do the chalk test to see the ideal pressure, if you want. But, at 38 psi, mine are driving and wearing great.

Just a curiosity question: Why 2-3 psi less in back? With Rugged Trails, Toyota recommends 3 psi more in back... Just for simplicity I run my backs the same as the fronts (38 psi). Thanks.

I base it off of sidewall flex. I like a nice flat patch of contact with just a little flex but not much. In my truck, the flex (bulge) in the front is noticeably more than in the back at any given pressure. Cranking up the PSI in the front a bit evens it out. I figure I'll get more even wear if contact patches and sidewall characteristics are as close as possible.

Interesting. I run mine at 32 PSI front and back. Maybe i'll change it up. BTW, do you have any problems w/ the lugs chunking? Might just be the desert wheeling.

I have 10,000 miles on my Dynapros, and they still look pretty new... no failures, flats or 'chunking'.

Maybe because your pressure is too low for those tires?

The Rugged Trails are 35 psi max tires and I ran them at 32 (the rear recommended amount by Toyota). But, the Dynapros are 44 psi max tires.

They came out of the wheel shop set to 30 all around. Mine are p-series, and they showed way too much sidewall flex. I would expect very short lifespan if I had left them there. They looked half flat.

Remember, these ARE p-series but they're also more sturdy than a standard car tire. While most p-series tires have a max PSI of around 36. P-series dynapros have a max PSI of 44 if I remember correctly.

I have no experience with the LT-series tires.

ETA: No chunking but only about 6K miles on the tires and I run 95% highway.

Look just a couple posts up... 44 psi is the max... and for my DC 4WD, 38 PSI works very well.

Thanks to David K's suggestion, I've been running 38psi on a 4 and it rides great. The damn dealer always airs them down this time to 35front, 37 rear) and the original shop had them over 44!

Do check your air gauge, it may be off?

The factory pressure is 29 front and 32 rear on the Rugged Trail TAs the truck comes with. Surprised the dealer invented his own pressures.

Ha! 38 psi post? That was way back in 2011!

After that post, and I shared it here, I did the 'chalk test' and adjusted the pressure down to 35 psi all around. I now am running Dynapros for a second time, and that is where they are set, again. They only have 4,000 miles on them, so I will be watching them closely. Please do a chalk test on your Tacoma to make sure! Here is that thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/chalk-test-dynapro-atm-at-16-000-miles.226635/
