Finally got around to the Yellow Wire Mod! And I have pics to prove it works <in theory >

Here is the connector. Second yellow wire down. I spliced male and female butt connectors in. Two reasons, If I need to return to stock, I can put them together in seconds, and this allows me to wire in a switch very easily.



Here is the switch, where Off Road Taco's normally have the A-Track button.



This is 4 Lo with no traction control, thus no LSD action.



This is with the switch in the off position, disabling the trucks natural function of traction control off.





I then tried a suuper steep hill climb in 4 Lo on the stock dunlops, and traction control disabled (normal Tacoma nonsense) and she climbed her like nothing. So I was unable to confirm the usefulness of the mod. But when the snow flies, we shall see

 

I debadged! and buffed. alot. 12yo black paint in az sun, let me TELL you about THAT ghosting luckily imma put on the 2nd gen badges, and black them so HOPEFULLY it wont be THAT bad.

if you had traction on all tires you wont notice it. its only when your off camber and there is no load on the tires

 

I believe there's a tutorial under '2nd gen how-tos'. but I'm not sure how he did it. I didn't follow it. I just gutted a cigarette lighter charger and tapped into the cig 12v outlet. pretty simple.

Put 265/75/16 Discoverer S/T's on and ordered the leveling kit from Daystar! Ill have pics of the S/t's in my gallery soon.

 

took off the hellwig leaf spring helpers. They are great for when you tow or have lots of cargo but really dangerous when you have nothing in the bed. Made the rearend so stiff that vsc always went off on moderate to sharp turns.

Leveling kit
Roof rack
2-Inno roof rack baike racks
extang folding hard cover
Rockford Fosgate Speakers
Weather teck floor mats
Factory front skid plat (painted black)

Not a bad start

 

How does it look with the leveling kit and how high? 2.25,2.5, or 3"?

 

Debadge sides and blacked out emblem, what u guys think?
