Nice just did it! Haven't tried it out yet, just kinda left switch hanging there. I'm wondering if having power to it when you turn back on the abs, the abs light would turn off. kinda what you do when you turn off and the truck, unless the truck has to run a systems check before it (abs light) turns off. Any ideas?

The light will stay on until the computer is reset. Also the abs stays disabled until the truck is turned off and back on. So basically all you need is a switch that is always on/temporarily off. I thought about just doing it that way. Like a backwards horn button or something. I'm sure someone has something like that. So even if that circuit is temporarily broken it stays that way until the truck is restarted. It is sooooooooo nice in snow/ice/mud

I have a suspended license right now so I'm working out all the kinks of my truck so it's sweet once I start driving again. So I cant really test stuff right now anyway. I need to keep doing things to my truck so it helps the time pass quicker.

You don't even know why it's suspended. And apparently your truck had never seen dirt...

Interesting idea... what about a normally closed relay? Bump the switch, it disconnects and immediately reconnects. As long as it fails closed, it should be OK--but I wouldn't put anything but the absolute best relay in place!

I like that idea because you don't have to remember to reconnect anything.

There's A different way of doing it if you have vsc. Its in the mod section. You have to splice a green write with a yellow tracer near the abs unit. Almost the same thing but different wires.

Did mine differently. Used the rear locker wire to turn it on and off(I have a sport). Blue wire/yellow stripe. Feed it +12v under the hood... no abs. Works on the fly, no turning the truck on or off.

If you interrupt power to the pedal switch... dosnt that mean the brake lights wouldnt turn on?

Anymore details? Can we just send +12v to this blue wire from any switch?

Well this morning I was leaving my driveway and "Captain Jackass" decided he wanted to come out and play... I normally LOVE him. But today I didn't. So I am coming out of the driveway, bang a 180 and slide straight into the massive bush next to my house because of that GOD DAMN ABS!!
The question I have since I searched thru all the threads and liked this one the best. Has anyone had any issues with the mod since installing the switch? And if i begin to slide and flip the switch will it activate as I am sliding if I release the break the press it again?

I too would like to know the down side of this mod. We had freezing rain this AM and when I put on the brakes the truck kept going - it went straight but it didn't stop - just pulsed and kept going. If I were to get into an accident would the insurance deny the claim if the ABS was by passed ?
