Alot of people put there antenna either right behind the cab or on their rear bumper. The CB receiver fits just about everywhere. Like Colin said, You can also put the CB in the console where the little "pocket" is, on the side of the console, under the dash......... the list is endless

albeit not a CB, my scanner is very ergonomic mounted here. I don't know if you have the hard plastic dash plate like I do to drill into..or if you have the knee clearance in your new truck like I do in my old one, but there ya go:)

.not at all-I have grazed the unit a few times with my knee but it's no big deal. -and I am 6'1" with a 32" leg. Maybe as I suspected, you 2nd-gen guys have less egress/ingress room in that particular area.

Depends on the radio you have. I have a cobra that I was trying to figure out how to mount last night. The pocket was my #1 choice but the pocket gets narrower as it gets deeper and with my CB pushed in as far as I could get it there wasn't much clearace for the shifter, and I could no longer use my 12v power points.

Under the sterring wheel works I guess but I don't like having things that close to my knees since my truck has a clutch.

I think it would be pretty sweet if somone could make a custom mount that fits where the cup holders are.

As far as the antenna goes the only feasible place I can think to mount it would be either on the cab in the real or on the front driver's side fender with an under the hood type mount. Mounting it to the bad is out of the question since it is totally composite.

Dont they have like a cup-holder CB? Yeah you definitely dont want to drill into composite. what about the cubby in front of the gear shift? or the pocket next to the steering wheel?

    Looks something like this:[IMG]

awright well you're a biggun:D you would definately have a frustrating experience w/my idea. But 6'1" aint no midget and my setup is surprisingly good. I really like it because I can do programs and entries at a stoplight without reaching, and the best part is I didn't sacrifice any prime space along the console..I like ALL my 4 cupholders:D

The "cubby" is the pocket in front of the shifter I was talking about. And I always forget that pocket next to the steering wheel is even there. I'm going to try that right now.

Nope, that pocket next to the steering wheel in no good for mine. Not wide enough or deep enough. My rig is a Cobra WX ST II. Smaller than some but by no means compact.
