I received my OE Leaf Spring Spacer Service Kit today. Part Number 04001-28104

    343kmlc_041528ddd42942e1b1d546b40dca0c2db9993f10.jpg
The kit plus the pry bar and screw driver needed. I also found the factory lug wrench to be very useful.

The spacers are made of a softer rubber, not hard plastic like the originals on my 2007.

    New compared to old.

One of the pads installed. I'll update on how they hold up over the winter, but I jumped up and down in the bed and NO SQUEAKING! :D

What year is your truck (beachbumberry)? Cause I have an 02 and I have three leafs. Which two would I put the bike tube between? Great thread though! I can't stand the squeaking!

I used a garage door floor seal rubber with goop and it's been working fine. Althought the rubber keeps trying to creep out. I have to spread the leafs and push it back in.

    FYI,
I kept having to push my bungie solution back into the contact points of the leaf packs more than I cared to. Ended up calling my local dealer, ordered the "hockey pucks" or spacers. Installed two 4 packs on my 05 DC SR5 and have been satisfied to date. True test will be underload, trailering, or abnormal driving to flex the leaf packs and see if the spacers remain in place.
One item of note though... the 4 packs all have the oval insert, on my set of leafs the shortest ones had a circular hole, not an oval. I merely cut the oval in half, and put the meat of the spacer towards the axle.

when they did my tsb they just ordered an updated 4-spring pack because the tsb is due to a harsh ride/squatting too much with a load

Its prob not the same thing. The rear leaf squeak comes from the rear section of the 2 leaf springs.

Pissed, my truck is two weeks old. I took it for a trail ride and now its squeaking. Any idea how the dealership would resolve this? is it even worth going to the dealership? is this something under warranty? First time post btw! what up guys

Spray out any grit / grime between the leafs at a car wash , if that doesn't help , there is a " squeaky leaf " TSB.

Well,it was nice while it lasted. Had the deler repair the squeak with some sort of spacers last fall. The fix was indeed temporary. It has returned with a flair. Can't wait for warmer weather when I will again be driving with open windows. That Ford looks better now than ever.

I have more squeeking from the front coils more than my leaf springs but it seems like a great Idea. Nice write up on it!

Have an 2008 Pre-Runner TRD with 55000 miles and this squeak started about 1000 miles back on driver side. Wow it's annoying! I see they have the new parts but I have a 12 x 12 piece of Buna-N/Nitrile Rubber 1/8 thick I bought from Grainger for a motorcycle project that I did not use I am going to try. Cut to fit and see what happens. This is what I am using...http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/Rubber-Sheet-1XWZ9?Pid=search .

Great info from those that have posted on this subject. I read them all.

Synthetic oil/lubes used throughout. NGK Iridium Lazer 100K spark plugs. Rear differential breather extension modification. Toyota front skid plate, roof rack, bed mat, chrome exhaust exhaust. Runs like new!
Don't waste your time. Put the 4 pack 1/4 thick rubber grommets in there bought at the dealer for $40. Do it once; do it right. Works great. You'll notice the old ones are about 1/16 of an inch thick when worn out and made of a thin metal if I remember correctly. Good luck.

I read that post and didn't know if installing the spacers was the same process as intalling that rubber strip; thanks! I already did it last night though. Once I looked at them, they were easy to figure out. No more squeak
