Largest Tires without removing the Mud Flaps

    Hey everyone,

    I'm looking to go up a size of tires. The consensus seems to be 265/75/16 on stock wheels / suspension but I'm getting mixed reports about having to removed the front flaps.

    I've been searching the forums but can't find a definitive answer about the flaps. The tire shops I've been to seem to think I'll have to removed them if I go for 265/75/16.

    Anyone running 265/75/16 on a stock setup with the mud flaps on?

    Thanks for the info. How much clearance is there from the tire to the mudflap?

    Also out of interest what tire did you go for? I'm looking at either the Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 or the Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61

    255/80/17 or 255/85/16 can be run with a minor mud flap trim

    You need a 2 1/2" min lift though

    I ran 265/70/17 ( same size as 265/75/16) for 2 years on stock suspension with the flaps on , no problem

    How do you like the Hankook's? I'm edging towards the AT version. Also where did you get them from? I'm struggling to find anyone here in Vancouver that carries Hankook

    I like em , but I have the MT's .

    I got them through a mechanic bud who owns a shop .

    Tried that already. Went to 3 shops 2 told me they don't carry Hankook for trucks only cars. The 3rd said they could get them but they wanted $400 a tire!

    I think it will have to be a trip to Bellingham, WA. Had any experience with cross boarder tire shopping?
