    I'm just guessing here, but perhaps it's because it's a large heavy piece of unsecured iron with a lot of inertia that can go flying when you take an unexpected turn, hill, or bump? ;)

    I ended up mounting a third screw, I also replaced them for 1inch shorter ones.

    I could see it easily flying out. Now on a back country trail maybe not so much of a problem. But higher speed stuff you want everything bolted into place.

    My stuff isn't completely loose, I have straps that hold my recovery box in place. The jack and my shovel go underneath.

    For those of you that just bolt it to your rails, how do you secure it? Or do you just remove it when you're not wheeling?

    I'd be worried about some hoodlum down here stealing it if I were to leave it on.

    The rac kit I have has holes in the bolts for locks. But like I said, I don't use it anymore. Ome day I may have CBI make me up a crops bar for it, similar to the one on their site, but only for the jack.

    Sometimes I wish I had a cover on my bed, but I just don't want to spend the money on it. I'd rather have some DuraTracs. :D

    I used the 4xRac system and bolted it onto the side of my bed. The Tonneau cover can go right over it and I can still use the bed rail system.
