Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 or Duratracs

I know, they are two totally different tires. The Hankook is significantly cheaper, gets great reviews here and elsewhere, and will probably get better MPGs. The Duratrac looks awesome and I suspect is better in the snow. I rarely off-road, but do see a lot of the white stuff.

So... should I bite the bullet and get the Duratracs? Or make the "sensible" decision and go with the Hankooks?

 

I have the Dynapro's and they are really good, all weather. They are so cheap because of the 2 ply sidewall, probably not the greatest off road tire because of this. But I do like them a lot and would buy again, my purchase was also based off customer reviews and price. No experience with the other tire, hope this helps.

 

The Duratracs are, I believe, only marginally heavier than the Hankooks at equivalent load range (I haven't been able to find published specs for the Hankooks, but Duratracs are only 45lbs in C). Good point on tread life.

I would consider the Grabber's but they only come in 57lb E's in that size.

 

Very happy so far with the ATMs, a little over 1200 miles on them now. But those duratracs sure look good.

 

The Hankook ATm's come in P or LT E rated for the most common sizes that fit our trucks

 

P is sufficient for me so I would get that for the Hankooks or C for the Duratracs.

 

I'm actually considering the Hankook ATm in P255/75/17

hankooks all day. i had the dynapros when i had my lifted 2010. for an a/t tire, they grab pretty damn hard and they will last roughly 55k miles

 

Just got a new set of the Dynapro ATMs. So far they're great. Noise level isn't bad at all, look decently beefy, and are affordable. Only time will tell how long they last though.

 

I currently have Duratracs, but I only have run them for a little over 1k miles. I ran them up a forest road that runs outside of Colorado Springs up to Woodland Park which is 20 miles of dirt and rocks (super easy trail type stuff ... nothing that requires 4wd in the summer). It had 10" of fresh snow and tires performed flawlessly. I did a lot of it in 2wd just to see how the tires would do. I love them.

Having said that, I've also had the Dynapros on my previous 1st gen. If I didn't discover the Duratracs, I probably would have put the Dynapros on my current truck. They looked brand new after 18k miles. An awesome all around tire that does great on snow covered roads / highways (I think the Duratracs are better in the snow, but the Dynapros can hold their own).

 

Just got duratracs. Great tire so far. Nice ride and quiet on freeway.

 

Hankooks here. Love em. Only reason i would switch is because they dont come in 255/80

The road noise drove me to the Hankooks....do mild off-raoding, and they are great!

Interesting , because they come 255/75/17 . ( same diameter and width )

 

It's all about how much you want to spend. I have dynapro M/T's and when aired down, they chop through the white stuff. But, like I said, it's all about how much money you want to drop.

 

Dyna pros, awesome tire looks good and does well on and off road

 

Hmm, might have to invest in some 17s. I wonder how a/t pizza cutters look.
