Munkeeboi...you mean you didn't get the "seat heaters"?? I see no relay in the small box--probably not a popular option down in LA...:D--thanks for the update on the 2012 fuse/relay set-up on the new Taco's--I will have to check one out once they arrive here at a local dealer--haven't seen one yet on a dealer lot--OLY

some of this, a little of that
sweet, just did this on my truck in the parking lot. It took me longer to find the connector a piece of wire and some wire strippers  I don't know why I waited so long to do this one.

well, i put some auxiliary back-up lights on my truck, as well as some in the engine bay, I found a nice "hot" terminal to tap into. I'm going to give the green wire one more shot from the fog light relay, if it doesn't work, i think i might go straight to the hot terminal. the fog lights won't be protected by the ignition if i do it that way, but i'm not so sure i'm worried about it. I'll post pictures of what I did if it works.
Taking video today at dealer for 2012's--will post to YouTube and paste link on here later today--OLY
Okay--I did a short video on the 2012's relay/fuse box layout...

I mention several times that tab #1 on the FR FOG RELAY is at the top right...THAT IS INCORRECT!!!! Tab # 1 is on the bottom left side of relay once it is removed...this is the tab you bend to the side and insert your 22g-18g female blade connector w/18g wire crimped on, then simply re-insert the relay...take the other end of the 18g wire and insert into socket # 3 of the TOW TAIL RELAY, then re-insert the relay...

Side note--You can see the green wire at the top of the video frame in the wiring harness, this is the green wire that user "2012" has spliced to make his mod...this can be done but is not the way I have done this mod nor is the explanation I have given in the OP...there is a fog light on anytime mod that uses the spilcing of the green (hot) wire with the female blade connector to Tab # 1 on the FR FOG RELAY allowing use of fog lights without or with parking/headlights/high beam...this is an entirely different mod than the one I have posted here--

Monkeeboi...have you done the mod yet?? Do the relay/fuse box covers close securely over the 18g wire going from Fog relay to Tow Tail Relay??

I also have attached photo of 22g-18g female blade connector with 18g wire crimped onto that and that leads to stripped end...this is all you need to do this mod--hope this helps and if anyone wants the connector/wire in photo PM me your address and I will drop it in the mail to you--Added photo of tab # 1 on FR FOG RELAY bent to accomodate female blade...OLY

I'll be damned OLY...This is what I did the first time...except....I DIDN'T TURN ON THE PARKING LIGHTS! I was so used to a mod I did on my Lexus that worked anytime the key was in the 'ON' position. I didn't even think to put the lights into park to test it out even though your the title of this thread was so clear

Here are my pics. The #1 tab needs to be bent back up like a "J" since it is so close to the fuse box edge. The wire fits fine under the covers, but I'd be extra careful if you were to wash your engine.

This will work for now, but down the line, I'd like to run the fogs anytime the key is in the ignition so I can run the fogs with just the DRL's. Any ideas on that one?

***UPDATE - See next post for ANYTIME FOGS

    Ok...found this post

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/li...lained-electrical-diagrams-4.html#post2370465

And rewired so that I can turn on the fogs whenever the key is in the "ON" position. The fogs will turn on/off independent of any lights being on and will turn off automatically when the IGN is turned off.

You go from Fog Relay Post #1 to Green wire in upper harness inside larger fuse box

    New wire route

Used a thin spade male plug and jammed it in the harness with the green wire

Me no likey...why??? You have no fuse protection running your male blade into the green hot wire plug...you may want to run an in-line fuse on your connector wire, a 20A should be plenty...

I do really like that you have the ability to run your fogs independent of your parking/low/high---Good job, but I'd do the in-line fuse with this set-up--OLY
