I made a custom cedar shift knob at work today I'll post pics later

 

Where I put my $20 backup cam. This thing works great night vision is awesome! Doesnt point at my trailer hookup by I dont tow. can adjust angle for that if I do later.

That is a nice set up it seems. If someone broke into your truck and went thru everything, they might just miss your baby. So, you cut a hole below the carpet liner. How much space is below the cut out? Is it a "enclosed space below", limited or open for the gun to slide around? When you place the carpet back over the concealed area, does it sag if you place anything on top of it? Thanks for the feedback!

Note- I just thought of something. Instead of covering the cut edge of your opening with duck tape or whatever, how about a flexible door edge trim to put on the cut edge?

give me about 30 minutes and i will post pictures without the gun so you can see how much room is there.

 

The hole is about 5-6" deep and 8-10" wide. I put towels in the hole to keep gun from moving. I plan on putting a "small" some what hidden pull tab on the top piece to make it easier to remove. Now I have a hole that i can put my finger in to remove.

How much did that lid cover cost? Looks good!

 

Great Idea! Door edge guards would work perfect! The console bottom will not sag because its made of plastic. The space under is closed off so stuff wouldn't slide far. Use a flat object to pry yours up and you will see what I'm talking about.
