If all goes well, TW member Kuneff will be selling me most of the parts I need to turn my dash back into something non-****ed! Have plans to replace the struts on my lift and rebuild my locker actuator, 35's and new wheels, it's on it's way to becoming a different truck, getting a second chance at life...

Oh and some free sliders may be in the works also...

Yeah the snorkel was free too, and a set of 16x7jj wheels. I don't know how good a job i could do painting them, if I did it i'd just rattle can them black semigloss or something, i'm not good with painting things. Flat Black Rustoleum is my best friend...

I have no idea. I went from getting 16/19 during the summer, even managing 24 on the highway once. My last tank was 11, and the previous three tanks were 13. I'm assuming its the use of 4wd and being cold plus my winter tire compound isn't helping much either.

Any opinions on installing an aal to firm up the ride that is less than favorable due to the weight of a camper shell?

Yeah it's been -5 for the last week so I've been running my remote start for 15-20 minutes to warm it up each morning so I know that has a lot to do with it. But the previous tanks I wasn't doing that so getting 13 still sucks. I need to change the plugs. Coming up on 55k and I don't see any indication the PO ever changed them.

Lol, lucky you. I thought it was recommended to change them every 50k, but I could be wrong. I'll clean the MAF and see if that helps, then change the plugs if it ever warms up. I just need to remove the intake tube for the passenger side and vacuum tube or something for the driver side, right?

    Non-iridiums are at a 30k-mile interval.

No. Well, only recommended by the folks who benefit from the markup on the high price.:D Toyota likes to push them, but the factory-specified stock Densos are prefectly fine (imagine that), and if you run anything slightly out of spec (single-electrode, different heat range, etc.), the engine won't like it. For the iridium equivalent, it says they will last to 60k. but this is the only possible benefit.

People are perfectly happy to sell you a $12 spark plug rather than the $2.50 plug that works just as well.

Personally, I think it is a good idead to crack open the plugs more frequently to help prevent seizing and get a look at the burn. Old habit, I guess.

This is an intersting thread, BTW:

Yeah I have the 883s. 882s carry more weight than the 883s.

    Taken right from Toytec -
