32's fit,but rims hit calipers :( zero offset the fix?

I scored some 15x8 rock crawler rims on 32 BFG's from craigslist.I put them on today and the rim hits the caliper,but seems to look like i can run a 32 on stock suspension.I called 4wheelonline and ordered the same set with a zero offset as he suggested.Hope he's right and it works.Here are a few pics.

 

Maybe I'm wrong, but those look wider than 15x8's?

Agreed, they look like 15x10's.

People have had luck with shaving down the back of the wheels to clear the caliper. Or you can run some .25" wheel spacers.

Regardless, those wheels and tires look way too big for your stock suspension set-up.

 

This is a BAD idea. If you're going to grind anything, grind the caliper.

 

Hey just reiterating what I have read people doing, I recommend buying wheels with the correct BS.

I know the 15" D-ring steel wheels have caused people problems with rubbing and have heard that the issue was resolved with grinding a small amount of the back side of the wheel.

That being said, get a small lift and put some wheel spacers on. Check out VA-countryboy's truck, he's running the same wheels and tires.

Damn, do those have any backspacing? I wouldn't stack a wheel spacer on with those, your wheel bearings will hate you and your scrub radius will be terrible.


Where are they rubbing on the wheel?

 

I someone with the same wheels, they had to run a 1/4" wheel spacer.

 

a 1/4" spacer wont make it much worse but make sure to get longer wheel studs

 

Yeah , and Possibly ET lug nuts

 

Maybe i should measure them.....

 

Prepare for a lot of rubbing.

 

that's what my ex used to say... she was so damn hard to please... although i never had to worry about working out... she was plenty exercise...

ok, back on topic...

 

a small washer about 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch thick around the lug nut holes should give you the clearance u need...i had to do this with my car rims.... should still have enough lengh left on your studs to get a good bite with your lug nuts

works the same as a spacer, except spacer is just 1 piece. your just simply trying to get clearance away from the caliper. its a simple fix bro...

 

Yeah a spacer is a single precision machined piece. The tolerance on washers is a little larger

 

granted,,, i'm just trying to help the guy out, with a quick fix, (maybe until his new stuff arrives).

 

when i had to do mine i simply went to the hardeware store, got 1/4inch washers that fit snug around the stud ( i remember they were stainless metric washers). and bam up and running... .75 cents max.. no down time, no waiting on parts... if they fit around the stud firm, ( washers) theres no chance of them going anywhere.
