    So here is the link to what I was trying to accomplish

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/au...iy-aux-input-2005-2008-factory-head-unit.html

    I think my soldering iron was a little too hot for the PCB and the RCH solder point actually came off with the wire I was soldering to it, Now There is no place for the solder to stick to. I realize that this project is over but my question is;

    Should I just get an 09-11 stock radio with an AUX jack already installed? (and if so, how is it wired in)

    Or should I buy another 05-08 radio and try this project again with lower heat?

    The radio I have is a 6 disk NON jbl.

    Thanks guys.

    ^ if you got the cash might as well upgrade, if not put a "wanted" ad in the classifieds section of the forum, guys are always trying to get rid of factory units cheap.

    None yet, starting over!! OME lift w/ Dakars & 885's Remote Start w/ window control
    I've done a few WTF things in my life when it comes to stereo stuff.... but there's no way I would have ever attempted to do THAT...

    Quick question: Does said boss know that you were screwing around with the radio mod?

    Yup, she was with me the whole time. I work in the audio field and have installed/serviced mixing consoles/amps for years, I have no issues with solder and stuff like this does not scare me, I just made a stupid mistake getting it too hot.

    Stuff
    It's fixable.. Get some soldering tin.

    But on the board where you melted the old tin and it came off scrape off the green until you see copper then solder down the new tin. But before you solder down the new tin clean it with flux.

    As long as the plugs in the back are the same it should work.

    You can buy a 05-08 stereo and if you have some extra cash, buy a plug-and-play USA Spec aux unit. Bonus is if you are using an iphone or ipod, it charges the unit.

    Where can you get this USA Spec stuff? Im also tempted to buy the JBL system from '09+ with the aux already installed...just wonder if I'll have any fit issues??
