Limo Tint all the way around, tailgate theft mod, Console Vault, EGR vent visors, debadged emblems, TRD door emblems, Sockmonkey TOYOTA tailgate sticker, OME 3" lift w/aal, BAMF sliders, BHLM, MKW offroad M88 black 18" wheels.. for now..
man.. I must have a lead foot or something.. my MPG has been about the mid 15 mark.. not good at all.. I hope it gets better with the first oil change I had yesterday. I plan on hittin the road this next week (yosemite for a couple days, with a quick bite in fresno while en route, then to big bear from there to spend thanksgiving with the in-laws).

Regarding the windshield problem, I haven't had the issue yet (knock on wood), but the weatherstripping was not placed well and was pulling off. So I'm at the stealership as we speak getting that fixed.

I asked them about killing the seatbelt chime, but they said they "can't" do it. I guess I'll just have to ask another stealership to do it. I think the guy really didn't think it was possible.

The audio setup is really nice, I feel it's a little heavy on the bass, with some genres of music, and too light on others. I guess I should try to stick with one genre of music and find out where I like my settings. (maybe listening to R&B one minute then Country the next is too much to ask)

A for the Entune/Nav, the only guff I have with it is that whole no nav while the vehicle is in motion thing. Drives me crazy! especially since my wife and I do a lot of "on the fly" navigation which is negated with this "safety" feature.

Another small annoyance is the angle in which the rear window is set. It's at the perfect angle to reflect whats in my center console. Before I tinted my windows (limo style), it was really bad. Now that it's been tinted, it only really reflects my shift knob and whatever small things that are shinny in the area. Annoying, but not a big deal, maybe it's a pickup thing. I've never owned a pickup before.

And does anyone else feel like the skewp is just at the perfect angle to reflect the sunlight right in their face? It's probably that I always seem to drive at the right time for the sun to kick right off the skewp and into my eyes. Just an observation..

I guess that's all I have.. and to clarify, I have a '12 DCLB TRD Sport "upgrade" its in MGM.

p.s. I love my truck even tho it doesn't sound like it from what I've said..

I have a 2012 dc off road package, had the whistling wind noise between 40 and 60mph, took it back they replaced the drivers side door seal, that did nothing, he called me today and said some people got the grill replaced and it fixed it, I will try that tomorrow and see how it goes, he ordered the part for me today

just picked up 2012 DC TRD off road about two weeks ago. put about 200 miles on it and haven't heard the whistling yet. i'll take more notice on it once i take it on freeway more. i have been driving on the streets mostly.

also for people who were asking, you can order TRD with no Entune and with just the regular radio. the regular radio comes standard with bluetooth. thats what i got. i decided against the entune because i just never liked stock navi systems for some reason. even the regular radio is great.

Can I ask what you guys paid for your '12 DCSB 4x4 w/Sport pkg & upgraded radio? I've been back and forth with the dealership the past couple of days and so far haven't been happy with the monthly payment they're offering. I currently have a '11 DCSB 4x2 w/Sport pgk & standard radio. I've only had it a year but I really like the '12's and I really want 4x4. Right now they haven't been able to change my mind.

They let me take it home for a couple of days. Took it on the highway but I didn't notice any noise, but to be honest I had the stereo up (nice bass!) and wasn't paying attention.

My first tank was 19.2 but that was 90-95% Hwy with cruz control. That was way better than the 2006 2.7 2wd I had. One sweet thing is the usb input on the navi. I just filled up a usb flash with all of my music and use all of the navi controls and no more changing CD's. Best by makes one so small it hardly bigger than the plug end. So you do not even know it is there. The sub is a bit boomy. My only real dislike is the all weather floor mats. They are weak. In my 06 it had pretty good ones but I guess with the idiots and there stuck gas peddles it kind of ruined the nice long ones?

For the nav while moving problem have you tried the voice controll that's what we have to do in my wife's 2011 4runner in that we just have to push the button and say destination then you can speak an address to it. Kind of annoying and took some getting used to but it works well.

I've been thinking about trying the voice thingie.. I guess there's probably some sort of a learning curve.. I guess once I get over the learning curve it'll probably be worth it. Thanks for the heads up:thumbsup:

    Aloha all,

I only have one thing wrong with mine, the plastic in the back rattles from the sub, not sure how that would have passed Quality control, but whatever, a small piece of form for the time being worked out very well :)

December it all gets ripped out, so it can rattle as much as it wants for now!

on a side note, I cant get the net work work on my phone (iphone) always tells me no connection, not sure what i am missing, i have to mess around with it some more...

Would like to have built in pandora working....

I read somewhere that the iPhone needs to be plugged into the system and dosen't work via bluetooth.

I test drove a '12 that didn't have the Nav pakage. The back up camera displayed in the mirror and it displayed a set of lines. The outside lines were green and approximated where your vehicle would travel as you backed up. The display also showed a set of yellow lines as a "warning" and finally a set of red lines as if to say stop here dumbass before you hit something LOL

I have had my '12 for 3.5wks now. 300miles. I put a whole new audio system in that was after market so i can't comment on stock.

This is my first Tacoma so I really have nothing to compare it against. I have noticed how solid it is when going over potholes bumps etc. Not even a single rattle. Just that "solid sound",, lol. I don't have any noise, wind sound issues but I have a DC 2x4.

I put BFG AT and that made a huge difference. Its like a 1" lift without having to actually f#ck with the suspension which is perfect for me. Too scared to lift after reading posts and Toyota and others advised against it while its still in warranty. Plus, its a 2x4 and I don't want to be "gay". lol. I will be using this thing for the flat FLA beaches and roads and some camping only so I don't need a 4x4 (until I get stuck i guess).

I do find the seat cloth material to be kind of flimsy. Not impressed with that at all so i ordered some Wet Okole to help remedy that.

I have noticed a HUGE difference when I put 93 in the tank as opposed to the 87 the dealer filled the tank with. Huge difference in performance.

I put in the plastic all weather mats. I love those. Real easy to clean.

So far very happy. Cool looking truck. I think I will wash it today. :D

I had an after market 10" put in the back and the installer had to customize the back with padding and cloth to stop the rattling. It worked. You can use that cloth they use to line the sub box with and some of that squeegie material with sticky stuff on one side. It not only stops the rattling but acts as a sound dampener too.

I have just turned 900 miles on mine and love it. No problems with wind noise or any other problems. The backup camera is awesome with the standard radio (guide lines really work great), Bluetooth connects to my Droid phone instantly and even switches on Pandora when I hit AUX button on the radio. The USB and input jack is great but the bluetooth is really the best. It even keeps separate audio levels so the volume is right on no matter whether you use the radio, CD or Pandora through BT.

Switched to Billy 5100's front (1.75") and rear and running General Grabber AT2 265/70/17's and love the setup. I already have the 4 leaf pack due to the Sport package, but will do a 1.5" add a leaf or replace the pack completely when I can just for a little more height in the back. It sits a little higher in the back now without a load now, but if I hook up my trailer, it will drop it down just a bit.

I really like the small changes from my 05 of the same model. The stereo is much better sounding and the backup camera is very useful. The ride is great, the power is good and my mileage is getting better every tank. Currently almost all CITY driving and getting right at 17. MPH are off by 5% with the tire change, but not a big deal. I did add an AERO TURBINE muffler and had to add a resonator to get the right sound and sound level.

I think the 2012 is a pretty solid truck. No matter what changes are made, someone will think it still needs something or the change was bad. No vehicle is perfect. That's why an AFTERMARKET parts market exists! Some people say it was silly to change the front end, but yet they buy aftermarket steel bumpers that are shaped almost the same as the 2012. It does give better clearance for the approach angle because it is higher and angled on the sides.

No truck is perfect, so my thought is buy the one you like most and change it to suit your own needs. Don't listen to what someone else likes, just do it the way you want and drive it the way you want.

And, the seat belt chime goes off after warning you. No more endless chiming.

LEAD, FOLLOW, or GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!
