I am looking to get the DB sub box (2 10" JL's) in my taco... I am fine with removing the plastic on the cab but really want to leave the plastic on the back of the seats and still have the seats operational. Is this possible?

And does anyone have pictures of there setup? This would be much appreciated!!! Since I am looking to purchase one today.

    Thanks in advance!

I believe he's saying he's fine with the plastic on the back wall coming out but he doesn't want to take the plastic off the back of the seat.

Its funny that you take the time to tell someone to search, but do not take the time to use punctuation. It must really bother you that people run JL.

OP - Depends on the series you are using. W6 and W7 will be too deep. Current gen W3 will need their "optional 6" mounting depth".

Depends on what you want to do with the seats down. I have the double sub box that I modified to fit just the passenger side (cut one sub box off leaving one sub box and the amp rack). I have the plastic on the seat back and when the seat is down, the plastic edge does come in contact with the sub surround. Given this, the seat back plastic can stay on, but not if you want the sub playing with the seatback down.

You could also consider just notching the seat plastic if you want the plastic on and the sub on.

I have W1's. Since I only need to get the 5 3/8 mounting depth box, maybe I will be able to scoot the box back far enough? I might consider doing a notch in the back of the seats but REALLY would not like to. Only reason I would like to leave the plastic on the back of the seats is because I sometimes use it for storage and I like the added protection.

Thanks for the help so far guys. Is there anyone out there who has this setup?!??!? There has to be!!! Haha

For the deeper depth option, they cut a hole in the box and glue a 1/4" piece of board on the back. Given this, you're not going to get much of anything back without the depth option. What may give you some room back though is to cut off the plastic box attachment points from the back wall. I have not done this myself so not sure what, if anything, you get back. Just something to consider.

When I saw your screen name I thought there was a chance you'd be in San Diego or LA worse case scenario. Apparently I've got the wrong coast all together. LOL. Oh well. Nice set up.

Thanks for the suggestions. Im going to go ahead and get the box and hope for the best. Between me and my buddy who is installing everything, I am pretty sure we can think of something! If its to the point where all I would need is a few mm's then we can figure something out.
