2012 Door Chime Disable

Not sure if im posting this in the correct forum but here goes, does anyone know how to disable the annoying door chime on the 2012 Taco? I barely bought it Monday and already the damn thing has me annoyed!!

 

Have to request it from the dealer. It's listed as an option in the manual

 

Anything the dealer can do I'm sure a few guys on here can do better ?

 

Very true, usually- but now Toyota (and all auto manufacturers) are going the route of locking that kind of thing up in firmware, and unless you have the key (software interface) you are out of luck. Same with the seatbelt chime on my 2012.

Nope! This will work up to 2011, but the '12s are a whle new animal. Gotta get the dealer to link up and change a setting, which most dealers are leery of doing.

Also, if you ever disconnect your battery, it resets to default (chime ON).
