Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I never knew that they even made a stepside Tacoma! That thing is wicked! I have never seen one before, was it just a 1st generation limited type of thing or what?

    1st hands down.

I had the cash upfront to buy a new '11, but i drove several, all with different packages, and a couple 1st gens.

I wanted a smaller truck, and hte 2nd gen doesnt fill that role at all. Its massive. Narrow parking lots with a 2nd gen, FTL.

    THIS.

Im very happy with the power of my 3.4, but would like something bigger like the 2nd, and as long as the power stays at the same ratio, or even gets better id be sold. but steel bed is a must, i mean c'mon, its a truck.

Yep they looked pretty sweet IMO. I think they're only available for 2001-2004 but don't quote me on that. You lose a little cargo space/practicality b/c you lose about ~7" of width but when moving things in you also have something to stand on which is nice.

1st gen. I love the lines of 01-04 models. I just wish an 8ft bed was an option, even though that would probably make for some odd looking overall porportions

I make a decent living, and have no debt other than this truck. I could've easily bought a much newer or new Taco (just bought my Taco last week) but it was a 4WD 1st gen or nothing for me.

That one has the hybrid/turbo-boosted diesel 2 cylinder right? Very rare truck.

I'm in a similar situation. My daily driver is a BMW 335i, but when it came time to buy a truck for utility and winter driving, it had to be a a 01-04 4WD Taco or nothing. People around me don't really understand it, but I LOVE my truck!

    Tread drift in 5-4-3...

Any mods to the Bimmer? Back home in Tampa, I was driving towards Clearwater Beach when a modded 4 door 335 blew by me. It sounded like an F-15 with open afterburners...

Back on topic, I can hardly believe how smooth and sophisticated this truck drives, quite frankly it amazes me!

BTW, finding one w/o rust and 4WD was like finding a needle in a haystack!

Yeah, I have it dropped on KW v2 coilovers, 19" BBS CH-R, Cobb AP Tune, Helix FMIC, Catless Downpipes, etc. It's probably putting out 360hp/390tq to the wheels. Great car but even with snow tires winter driving sucks and there's hardly any utility being a coupe.

Just the other day I strapped 4 bikes down on the bed and I still had room for other junk! Recently installed Energy Suspension steering rack bushings and Bilstein 5100/5125 combo and loving it even more!

Edit: Oh, and it definitely was a search for the right one. Took me about 8 weeks to locate one within a 200 mile radius searching CL, Autotrader, Cars.com every day.

    About the bimmer... NICE!

About the Taco... Rookie! :D I only searched for a month, but I basically left rocks unturned in FL, TX, GA, AZ and CO. I close on two in FL (heck one was in Tampa, the other in Panama City) and they were both sold from under me, after I thought we had closed a deal. I ended up with a better truck, but it almost got ugly. I bought mine at a dealer in Col Springs...

I found an '02 with 25K miles on it, always garaged and always factory maintained. The only old rubber on it are the original tires (which have a good 10K miles left on them) and the windshield wipers. It's so pretty I'm afraid to take it off road!

i like both. but only the ’01 to ’04 on the 1st gen’s i have a ’07. but if i was to have a trail rig it would be a ’01 to ’04 extended cab. i don’t really want to mess up my ’07 it’s nice and i want it to stay that way. i may do some stuff.
