Nice. The new 4runner mirrors are supposed to mate up with the Taco with little modification. It is pretty spendy though, I think the one guy that did it spent over $600, but you can probably do it for less.

What a great write up & mod design.
Heated mirrors is one of my favorite features on a truck.
Props to you and all those before who have helped make it happen on the tacoma.
    The vid is awesome!

I doubt you can do it in 5 or even 6 hours. I am going to need you to come over to my house and prove it. I'll even let you use my truck.

My truck is as lifted as its going to get unless I get the bug to go bigger with tires but my Hankooks only have 20k miles on them. I might take you up on the offer after I get past the lack of motivation of working on my truck due to the latest headlight retrofit project.

Central Jersey where. I'm in North Jersey and need some motivation to get going on this. I got a '08 too but it's a 2.7. Wonder if the moves are the same on this mod for the 4.0 and 2.7.

Not a problem, I hope it works out well for you. The 4runner mirrors have a lot of cool features, esp. if you can get a set for $150!

Sweet! I was glad I had heated mirrors this morning, it was 25° @ 5:30 and my truck was frozen over. I hope the install guide was easy to follow. I tried to make it very intuitive and pretty self-explanatory....Cheers on the heated mirrors!!!

Awesome writeup! One thing i noticed when i did mine yesterday is that if you pull the little green bulb condom off the bulb that comes with the highlander switch, the uncovered bulb matches pretty well and you can save a few bucks and get away without buying the orange bulb...its not a perfect match, but its damn close...what a great mod for under 200 bucks :)

Good idea, I didn't even know there was a color cap on there. Now I have an extra bulb to use sometime..

Toyotapartszone.com won't ship to Canada or even accept a Canadian Credit card. I can't seem to find the mirrors for the same price anywhere else...

Although I can't justify spending this amount of time and money for this particular mod it looks professional. Good job.
