im planning on putting in a 3" lift and was thinking of using OME 885 coils with spacers and add-a-leafs in the rear. now im looking at suspention lifts and it says stuff about a diff drop and needing new shocks. am i just over analyzing this or am i about to spend 700 dollars rather than just the springs and add-a-leafs. any help is appreciated.

Yes you should get new shocks that are properly valved to dampen the stiffer spring rate.

As for the diff drop, it doesn't do much in second gens.

ok so diff drop no, shocks yes. should i go with the OME n140s, or i hear things about the 9000's. so i should expect to spend another 200-300.

The 9000s are the FRONT shocks-N182s are the REAR shocks for the 05+ Tacoma's.

Yep. The N140s are the precursor to the 9000s. 9000s are pretty much all you can find these days (although I did manage to find an old OME kit with N140s last year).

Might want to think about UCAs too.

Yeah...I had forgotten the 140s were the old ones.

With AALs-You stock shocks will be extended further- Having longer shocks, built to go with a lift, is probably a good idea. I'll Jonny is right- UCAs are a good idea.

    3" OME lift 885s & Dakars riding on 33" KM2s
Good stuff, you will get at least 3" of lift without a shell (I got 3" with a shell) they will ride better with a shell or other weight in back (a local member I helped to fix his Taco rode in mine and liked the ride better than his with Dakars). http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/173193-2nd-gen-ome-dakar-hub-fender-measurements.html
On my 4banger AC I got 3" in front with 885s no spacers & 3" in back with Dakars. I think OZ got 2 1/2" up front on his DC with 885s no spacers so you would probably get 3" with spacers.

If you are a hardcore offroader and flex your truck a lot, you might consider putting on some extended brake lines with those dakars.

im not a huge off roader, just looking for some space for the off road trails to get to my fishing ponds, i was hitting my skid plate a little last time i went out. so you think those items will lift my truck just right.
