" this is a 2011 toyota tacoma 4wd that was traded in to our dodge store. this truck has not passed NC inspection since it has the following issues that are needed: tires are below required specs, exhaust is missing the muffler, the right rear tail light lens is broken, power steering is inop, the suspension has been modified, rear bumper is twisted, and the clutch needs adjusting to be 100%. Despite these issues this is a great price and reduced due to these issues."

    WTF lol

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
Yeah, not to mention they want so dang much for it. Whoever accepted that as a trade in was an idiot. "Hmm, I want a HUGE single cab 4 banger tacoma on boggers. I know, I'll look at a dodge dealer!"

Well, I suppose an accident is one way to start a demod, but it seems a bit extreme. Seriously, always sorry to hear about an accident, but glad you appear to be reasonably fine (beyond being obviously displeased about the accident).

Man, hope you're not at Bill Penny Toyota in Huntsville. Been there several times and all they seem to show on television is the cooking channel. Boring!!!!

Pictures don't really do the damage justice, you can obviously see the cosmetic damage, but what is hard to see is what lies underneath. All the inner components that the body panels mount to is destroyed as well.

This picture shows some of the cosmetic damage. Both headlights and foglights will need to be replaced. Bumper, grill, hood, and quarter panels all took considerable damage

    IMG_20120114_141401_24cfea94d285808526ce5890889f9a6b29129011.jpg

Here you can see how the body doesn't sit correctly on the frame and you can see how the radiator is concave now.

    IMG_20120114_141818_f2e173c16d328713ed09545220b2b74fa259ea13.jpg

notice the aluminum bumper in the opening on the lower valence.

    IMG_20120114_141831_9262e06104ba233e8e7aa4a336737eced61d4df0.jpg

The dash fell apart on the inside

    IMG_20120114_141930_01c942becb9f1c59723058f0576c2a31058739b3.jpg

Not only are portions of the frame twisted, but also the frame is bent concave now. Can't really see the bending in this picture though

    IMG_20120114_142007_349c39b77b3088be1bd143655b394168f4b80d41.jpg

Looking down behind the grill, you can see how everything has shifted and bent.

    IMG_20120114_142109_c7ca84719c09e9e13adf649d816f32441ba3dac4.jpg

Heres an example of how all the metal pieces the body panels mount to are bent.

LOL. Once you've spent some time in there (several times), you've seen just about everything and there's little to do beyond watching television.

Ouch man that was definately a big impact. I think they will total it with the frame bent, but who knows with insurance companies these days.

Man, that looks pretty bad. And all that (bent & broken metal, bent frame, etc) didn't set off the air bag? Makes me wonder what will.

Anyway, it's not going to be cheap to fix, so I'm curious about what the insurance company is going to say as well. It's right on the edge, so it's probably really up to the dealer. If he recommends replacement for everything (sub-frame, etc), the insurance company will probably write it off as totaled.

Hard to say. If the frame is truly bent, that will be the biggest thing to having it totalled. You can definetly tell the front horns of the frame are bent and that it is out of square, but how much of that is the mounts being bent versus the frame, the pictures won't really show. On the plus, looks like your satoshi made it through ok! Although the bottom pin mount might be broke.

Depends on what the value of the truck is. It could conceivably be cheaper to replace the frame than to replace the truck with the way Tacomas hold their resale value.

That's pretty bad though. Glad you made it out ok.

Not bad at all. Looks like you've done quite a bit of work on it, and kept it in darn good shape. Hope my Tacoma looks as good in a decade or so.
