Bottoming out after 49,000 miles! Anyone else?

'07 double cab trd sport, only 49,000 miles, bottoming out in the rear all the time now at say 10mph over a speed hump (not bump), bottom out.
1 adult, 3 kids, bottom out over all sorts of potholes, driveways.
Would it be my rear springs or shocks (or both) that may be shot.
Anyone else experience this?
I use it as a truck hauling lawnmowers, grass, leaves, brush, and towed a travel trailer with a weight dist. hitch for approx 15k of its life.

There is a TSB for the rear leaf pack. Check the Sticky in the second Gen. section.

 

Thanks, I forgot to mention I am a Canadian taco and have the (4 I think) leafs.

 

Were you able to fix it with another spring option or just live with it?

 

There is the option of an AAL, too. That would assist with hauling and towing.

I'm not saying it would be covered. Just answering the question of other people having the same issue. Obviously, they have.

 

my single cab does it. i had an acura 4cyl motor in the bed of my truck 350lbs max and my truck would bottom out over small dips in the road.. im just gonna replace shocks with bilsteins 5100's and the AAL, call it a day. just under 50k on my truck

 

oh yeah i have 60k and my rear end bottoms out all the time! mostly offroad tho and very harshly

 

How bad is this for the rest of the truck? I got some superbumps from wheelers and it at least makes it tolerable! But.......it can't be good for the rear of the truck, frame etc!

 

I didn't bother with the TSB. Went with OME set up instead. Bottoming out is definitely an issue with these trucks. It's up to you how far you need or want to take the suspension.

 

Did you go OME Dakar springs along with the OME shock or just Dakars and 5100s? I dont mind doing a mild lift replacing the front shocks, coils and rear stuff. Are you happy with it?

That was exactly my thought as well. When I bottom out, I am wondering what will be totally stressed out next

 

Did you have this setup when you were hauling the hay in one of your pictures? Thats a fair bit of weight and the backend doesn't look bad at all! If thats the case I think I have made my decision to replace

 

Get a full leaf pack to eliminate this problem. It might cost you ~$500 but is well worth it.

Heh, no. That was actually with my stock three leaf pack. I was quite surprised, more than twenty bales in there. Dakars would look even better!

 

So how would you rate the ride now, empty with the dakars?
Progressive with good give, jarring?
